Tournament Overview

Tournament Date: June 13, 2017

1. Registration and warm up 5.30-6.30 sharp.
2. Information and questions from players 6.30-6.45.
3. Tournament: 6.45-11.
4. We are running a pingolf tournament using matchplay events.
5. There is a single elimination finals as pingolf itself does not attract IFPA points without a head-to-head finals component.
6. There will probably be about 14 machines in use on the night.
7. Grant is not obliged to tell players which machines will be used prior to the tournament day.
8. Players will need to play in pairs or threes if odd numbers.
9. There will be 18 ‘holes’ played. For each ‘hole’ on each machine there will be an objective to achieve. For example: start Whiplash Multiball on Iron Man or score 300 million on Ghostbusters. If you reach the objective on ball one, your score is 1 for that ‘hole’ or if you reach this on ball 3 your score is 3 for that ‘hole’. If you don’t reach the objective by the end of the game you score a bogie 4. There will be some par five 'holes'.
10. As soon as a player achieves the objective they stop playing that hole to save time.
11. The goal is to get the lowest score.
12. If a machine is used for two holes, players MUST agree on what goal they are aiming for before starting the ‘hole’.
13. Players must initial/verify their playing partner(s) score sheets.
14. Players can talk about a particular objective before starting a game/hole, but once the game is started, prompting must be kept to between balls.
15. At the completion of the 18 ‘holes’ players will be ranked from lowest score through to highest score and the top 8 players will go through to a single elimination best of 3 finals. At the end of pingolf qualifying, tied scores will be broken in the standard way; player with the most holes in one, if still tied, player with the most holes in 2 etc. If still tied, a playoff will be held, the format to be decided.
16. ENTRY FEE: $25 for the whole night.
17. On the night players should have their IFPA # ready, to save time. Just Google IFPA and your name to get your # if you have one.
18. For players who want more practice, they can attend the Friday lock-ins at Adelaide Pinball. Check dates with Grant.
19. There will be a tech on site for the tournament.
