Introduction
AtGames and the International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA) have partnered to introduce sanctioned AtGames Flipper Friends™ and other pinball events and leaderboards into the global competitive pinball ecosystem. The IFPA is a recognized organization that coordinates and sanctions competitive pinball tournaments at local, state, national, and international levels. These tournaments feature real-time competition, with players vying for high scores in structured play environments.
The IFPA ensures fairness and consistency by normalizing scores across multiple tables, accounting for variations in table design and scoring potential. This allows players to compete on a level playing field, regardless of the specific tables used in the tournament. Participants’ performances in these events contribute to their official IFPA ranking, which is calculated using a detailed point system (VWPPR) based on placement, tournament size, and competitive strength.
To compete in virtual tournaments you must have a compatible AtGames Legends Pinball Device available here: AtGames Official Online Store
Join the action by following these simple steps:
- Launch and play the designated tables for each tournament. Active and upcoming tournaments can be viewed here: Schedule – ArcadeNet
- Keep playing until your last ball is lost.
- Enter your initials in the provided field.
- Exit the game, and your score will be automatically uploaded to the leaderboards.
Compete, climb the ranks and prove your pinball skills!
Pinball Tournament Rules
- To be eligible for placement in the tournament, participants must post a score on every table included in the competition. Please note that tournament results from 2024 through <xx/xx/2025> are not subject to this requirement.
- Each Legends ID is eligible for only one spot in the top 50 per table and in the final tournament results. Duplicate entries using the same Legends ID with different initials will not be considered. Only the top score for a Legends ID will be recognized.
- Participants can play each table as many times as they’d like during the week-long tournaments. Only the top score for a Legends ID will be recognized.
Pinball Tournament Scoring System
Players compete across a pre-determined number of pinball tables, aiming to achieve the highest possible scores. Their performance on each table is ranked, and points are awarded based on their ranking per table. At the end of the tournament, the total points from all of the tables determine the final standings.
Scoring System per Table
- Each table awards points in descending order from the highest score to the 50th highest score.
- 1st place on a table earns 50 points.
- 2nd place earns 49 points.
- 3rd place earns 48 points, and so on.
- 50th place earns 1 point.
- Players outside the top 50 on a table earn 0 points for that table.
Final Standings Calculation
- Each player’s tournament points from all of the tables are summed to determine their total tournament score.
- The player with the highest cumulative total is declared the tournament champion.
- In the event that two or more players are tied, their combined table scores from each tournament table will be utilized to determine their final place.
Virtual World Pinball Player Rankings
The Virtual World Pinball Player Rankings (VWPPR), created by the International Flipper Pinball Association, are updated upon the completion of any IFPA sanctioned AtGames virtual tournament. All IFPA sanctioned AtGames virtual tournaments are eligible for Virtual World Pinball Player Rankings Points which are awarded according to the tournament’s strength of field, number of participants and the players’ finishing position. Additional information about how the rankings are calculated can be found here: IFPA VWPPR Rankings Information – 2025
At the end of the calendar year, the player with the most VWPPR points will be crowned the ‘World’s Greatest Virtual Pinball Player’ for that particular year.
