Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: March 21, 2017
GENERAL INFORMATION:
1. Registration and warm up 5.30-6.30 sharp.
2. Information and questions from players 6.30-6.45.
3. Tournament: 6.45-10.30.
4. We are running a flip frenzy tournament.
5. Once all players have registered, the number of players will be divided by 2.6 to determine how many machines will be used for the tournament.
6. As soon as we go through all the info we press the start button on the stop watch and away we go (in this case 3 hours 45 minutes).
7. Grant is not obliged to tell players which machines will be used prior to the tournament day.
8. PLAYERS NEED TO READ THE TOURNAMENT FORMAT CAREFULLY SO THEY HAVE A GOOD IDEA ON HOW THE EVENT WILL RUN.
9. There is no matchplay programme for this format, so we will need to run the night on hard copy.
10. When the tournament starts each machine is randomly assigned 2 players. The remaining players are placed in a queue.
11. When a match is completed:
- the loser stays on the machine, unless he/she has lost twice consecutively, in which case the winner stays on.
- the person leaving the machine needs to fill in the results sheet and initial the result. Then that person heads to the rear of the queue.
- the player staying on the machine plays in the same position (P1/P2) as he/she played in the previous match.
- the player at the front of the queue moves up to play the player staying on the machine.
12. At the end of 3 hours 45 minutes no more games may start. Whoever wins the most games in that time is declared the winner. Ties will be broken by the fewest losses, if still tied, then head-to-head results and if still tied by a single game playoff on a machine chosen at random.
13. ENTRY FEE: $25 for the whole night.
14. On the night players should have their IFPA # ready, to save time. Just Google IFPA and your name to get your # if you have one.
15. For players who want more practice, they can attend the Friday lock-ins at Adelaide Pinball. Check dates with Grant.
16. There will be a tech on site for the tournament.
