Our Project Pinball Charity Mission continues

blog post courtesy of Daniel Spolar

As I write this, we are on the verge of placing our 31st and 32nd pinball machines in the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. This reminds me of how far we have come in this short time and hope that everybody can feel the impact and to know that they hold a part of this success story in their hands as well.

We started on this journey by finding one broken and badly worn Spider-man pinball machine back in November 2011, which seems like a lifetime ago. Our journey has been rewarding and full of joy as we help others in those Children’s Hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses across our nation.

We have a full new year that will keep us very busy as our charity’s public awareness rises and our pinball placement program and other programs are increasing in demand.

We have a list of waiting hospitals and RMHC locations that we look forward to moving to our pinball machine dedication completed list. We are receiving high praises from the hospitals and RMHCs that we serve. They have been busy talking about our charity’s helping programs to other hospitals, RMHC and more and now these new locations are being opened to us at a growing rate.

Plus, we have had tremendous success with our year-old RxPinball Program that has been helping children with special needs. We have been working with school and hospitals to show them the therapeutic benefits of a pinball machine as a development tool. We are expanding our program to reach even more communities and will build to keep pace with this increased demand as well.

We are busy redesigning our Project Pinball Charity’s website and adding some new features to make it easier for you to view the great things that keep us growing. We need to have a page that host our videos and photograph that can showcase our charity’s growth, history as well as the lives that we have touched.

We will be adding new community fundraising tools, so you can easily see where Project Pinball is targeting and where you can donate to your community or others that you wish to help with your support and donations.

We have a brand new and exciting fundraiser event planned for a January 1st, 2018 launch with the help from our friends at MatchPlay.Events and the IFPA. We will be announcing all the details here next week.

We have wonderful things on the horizon and our future looks bright! We cannot work as charity without all the incredible support to keep our mission moving forward. With the holiday season upon us and with the end of the year quickly approaching, we would like for you to think about giving to help our cause. We would like to be your charity that you believe in “to get things done”. I ask you to consider Project Pinball Charity as one of your charities that you chose to help. A charity that has a beneficial impact that you can see, hear and feel good about.

If you would like to help our charity with your kind donations there are several ways that we can assist you.

Stern Pinball sponsors IFPA Women’s World Championship with $1000 in prizes!

sternIt’s fair to say sponsorship of the IFPA Women’s World Pinball Championship is now trending!

Following the sponsorships from Spooky Pinball, Madison Pinball, Superelectric Pinball Parlor and Cleveland Pinball League, Stern Pinball has stepped up to sponsor the Women’s World Championship with the donation of TWO official toppers from their catalog ($1000 value). Both finalists will receive a topper of their choice following the tournament.

World Pinball Player Rankings update – closing out 2017 and moving to WPPR v5.4

world_pinball_player_rankings_wppr1As we come to an end of another season, the 2018 season brings us some additional challenges, the biggest being the launch of the IFPA endorsement fee for North America.

Up first is closing the books on 2017, and in order to do that we are asking that any organizer that has open tournament results submit those to us by Thursday, January 4th. Furthermore, any corrections to player misspellings, incorrect results, improper scoring issues, etc, all need to be addressed by January 4th as well. Please take some time to review your own personal results to see if anything looks out of place.

Our plan is to lock down 2017 on January 4th, and use the standings at that time for IFPA15 World Championship qualifying purposes, as well as the other Championship Series purposes (State Championship Series, European Championship Series, etc). Any errors caught after that point in time will NOT impact the 2017 standings, although those changes will be reflected in the 2018 rankings going forward.

Any questions please contact us at [email protected], and remember that if your profile doesn’t say ‘Registered’ with a green check mark, that we do NOT have your email address on file. This means we will not be able to contact you for any IFPA World Championship or other Championship Series qualifying issues.

With the State Championships planned earlier than normal on January 20th, 2018, registration process for SCS is going to be QUICK (not quite Pinburgh fast, but faster than usual). Players will have until the end of January 7th, 8pm CST to declare the state they wish to compete in. Contact your IFPA State Representative to make sure you are registered for the state you wish to play in.

Superelectric Pinball Parlor and Cleveland Pinball League sponsor 2018 IFPA Women’s World Pinball Championship!

After seeing the sponsorship from Madison Pinball, the Superelectric Pinball Parlor and Cleveland Pinball League have volunteered to match that sponsorship!

The $250 sponsorship to the Women’s World Championship will go to the 2nd through 4th place finishers distributed equally at $83.33 each.

This now puts the total prize package at $2050 . . . and growing! We will certainly follow up with any future news!
