Monthly weekend pinball tournament at My Parents' Basement!
Format: Fair Strikes
w/ Balanced Pairings
and Bounty prizes
Entry fee: $5 plus dollars for games
Register from 11:30-11:55 am
First round starts at 12:00 pm noon
Typically we have distributed the prize pool among the players who finish in the top 8. This time we're doing something totally different.
Each player starts with a token; this represents the portion of their entry fee that went into the prize pool. When a player gets their 8th strike they're knocked out and they give up the token they started with. If 1 player in a group is eliminated the 1st place player from that group gets their token. If 2 players from a 4-player group are eliminated then the 1st and 2nd place players in that group each get a token. If 3 players are eliminated then then 1st place player gets all three tokens! Turn in any tokens you have earned to claim your portion of the prize pool.
Fair strikes knockout. Play in 3 or 4 player groups for between 0 and 2 strikes each round. Play until you've gotten 8 strikes. Everyone plays at least 4 rounds (most will play at least 5 or 6 rounds). You'll be put into a new group each round with other random players, likely players who you haven't already played that day. Final standings determined by strikes and elimination order; no separate qualifying and finals.
Four player groups: 0/1/1/2 strikes for 1st/2nd/3rd/4th place. Three player groups: 0/1/2. Two player groups: 0/2.
