Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: May 21, 2023
Monthly weekend pinball tournament at My Parents' Basement!
This month we're sticking with the same new format, with a few small adjustments.
Entry fee: $5 plus dollars for games
Register from 11:30-11:55 am
First round starts at 12:00 pm noon
Qualifying: 7 rounds of group match play
You'll play in random groups of 3 or 4 players. Win qualifying points by doing well in your game: 7/5/3/1 points for 4-player group; 7/4/1 points for 3-player groups. (We'll use the Balanced pairings setting so that you get to meet and play against a wider variety of other players.)
Approximately the top half of players advance to the finals. 16 players advance if we have 32+ players or 8 advance if we have 16 to 31 players. (We're going to avoid having byes by not doing a top 12 finals.)
Finals: Head to head single elimination bracket
Win 2 out of 3 games to advance to the next round.
The player with the higher qualifying position in the pairing gets to pick the first game, loser of game 1 picks game 2; loser of game 2 picks game 3 if needed. But game picks must be made quickly and only from choices available at the time.
The games will be on their normal settings of either $1 per play or 3 plays for $2.
