Stern Pinball and the International Flipper Pinball Association are excited to announce the launch of the Stern Army Circuit.

The IFPA will be tracking the WPPR points earned at all IFPA sanctioned events held at Stern Army locations throughout the calendar year. At the end of the year, the top 10 finalists will receive prizes from Stern Pinball for their achievement:

1st place –> $500 Stern Shop credit + Playfield
2nd through 10th place –> $100 Stern Shop credit + Playfield (each)

In November 2018, Gerald Kirchner out of Lakewood, CA moved himself up 25,721 spots up the World Pinball Player Rankings. This earned him a “Biggest Mover” award and qualified him for the Stern Rewards Program. The rewards program allows qualifiers to purchase a brand new Stern pinball machine at a special IFPA price. Gerald redeemed his reward for a Batman 66 Premium.

Since November 2018, Gerald has played in 32 more IFPA sanctioned events, moving himself up from 8002nd to 1085th in the world.

Congratulations to Gerald, and remember if you’re interested in qualifying for the Stern Rewards Program, check out the rules here. A reminder for anyone with a 2018 reward, you have until 12/31/19 to redeem it before it expires.

In the history of competitive pinball, very few (29 in fact) have had the chance to call themselves a Major Champion. Like professional golf or tennis, the opportunity to join this elite club only happens four times a year. The IFPA16 World Championship brought together one finalist looking to add their name to this list (Johannes Ostermeier) and one finalist looking to add to their already established legacy (Daniele Acciari – 4-time World Champion).

Following an epic match that went the distance, it was Johannes Ostermeier who became the latest player to be crowned World Champion, and the 30th player in competitive pinball history to win a Major Championship.

With his victory Johannes earned himself 125.46 WPPR points, moving himself up to the 2nd ranked player in the world.

With his 2nd place finish, Daniele Acciari reached his 11th top 4 finish in Major Championships (5th of all time). Peter Andersen from Denmark became the 89th player in history to finish top 4 at a Major Championship with his 3rd place finish. 4th place went to Raymond Davidson who earned his 6th top 4 finish in Major Championships (tied for 9th all time).

These players have now all qualified for the Stern Rewards Program for 2019. Congrats to everyone!

The IFPA is excited to announce that Stern has added Black Knight Sword of Rage Pro and Premium to the rewards program. A reminder that the 2018 rewards earned by players expire December 31st, 2019. In addition this is the last call for any Batman 66 Premium games purchased through the Rewards Program.
