Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: June 17, 2023
This will be a 7 hole pin-golf event at Pizza West with pin-golf style playoffs. We will use next.matchplay.events to help with scorekeeping. Players will be assigned a group to play with. Each game will have a target score or objective and each game will be set to 5 balls. If the player doesn't reach the target score or objective in 5 balls they will score a 6. There will be instructions posted on how to achieve each objective and players are also welcome to ask questions about the format or the objectives. Players aren't necessarily competing with their group members but they're striving to complete the objectives in as few tries as possible to try and qualify for playoffs. After everyone has finished qualifying, we will take 4-8 people to A Division playoffs and 4-8 people to B Division playoffs depending on the overall turnout.
Playoffs will also use pin-golf scoring. Players will be placed in 4 player groups based on how well they did in qualifying. The top 3 seeds in each group will each get to pick a game to play each round. Each player cannot pick the same game more than once during playoffs and each group needs to play 3 different games each round. The top seed will choose first. Players may also defer game choice to the next seed. If no game is chosen, the tournament director will choose an eligible game at random. The top 2 players from each group will advance to the next round until there are only 4 players left. The final 4 players will play 3 games to determine the final standings.
The winner of A Division will receive a trophy. Prize money will also be distributed to the top players in each division as determined by the tournament director and depending on the turnout. Entry is $5 per player plus coin drop and all money will be paid out to the field.
Bi Division playoffs will be played for prize money, and fun but their IFPA points will be determined by their qualifying position if more than 50% of the field advance to playoffs.
Tournament begins at 5pm. Anyone is welcome to show up and sign in with Dylan, who has the laptop.
