Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: August 28, 2021
No URL available for above Website field... Private tournament at my home by invite only that was initiated during Covid, prior to IFPA resumption of points sponsorship... so not posted online. Player Limit has already been reached, so won't make a public URL unless necessary. Have been told previously that private tournaments are allowed if over 16 players and no more than 4 per year. Let me know if this has changed.

"Pinburgh style" Matchplay tournament without finals. 4 player groups for majority of session with 3 player groups only as needed. First round seeding will be based on IFPA ranking as of August 15th with unranked players receiving the lowest seeding. Subsequent rounds will be swiss ranking for player groups. Players without IFPA ranking will receive the lowest seeding. Games will be arranged in banks of 3 pins each with each round being played on a single bank of 3 different games. Scoring will be 3/2/1/0 . Tournament is timed to go between 9:00am until approximately 10:00-10:30pm so exact number or rounds is not known at this point. Anticipated to be approximately 5-6 rounds before the dinner break at approximately 6pm, but rounds will be added or deleted as time allows up to the dinner break. At which time the top 3/5 of field (~20 players) will be broken up into Division A and the bottom 2/5ths of fields (~12 players) will be broken into Division B. Division group sizing may be adjusted slightly if less players enter into tournament.
Division Play after dinner break: Division A points will not reset total points earned. However, (similar to Pinburgh Division E), all players in Division B will start after the dinner break with a 0-0 record. Same format of each round being played on a 3 game bank. Total of 3 rounds.
No playoffs. Player position at end of Division play (final 3 rounds) in each division will determine final tournament standings with all A Division players being ranked according to total win-loss record and the B division players being ranked below the last A Division player.
Tiebreakers:
Same score on machine will have a tiebreak to determine placement with 1 ball playoff on same game.
No tiebreakers for total win-loss record will be played at end of rounds prior to dinner break to determine Division split. Total win-loss record in session prior to last session will determine tiebreaks. Previous session to that (and so on) will be used if necessary.
Meaningful games played estimate: Matchplay with 4 players groups. With 9 rounds of 3 games each, this should be approximately 54 meaningful games played.
