Tournament Overview
Start Date: August 24, 2019
End Date: August 25, 2019
Pinfest Pinball Battle
Entry
Entry is open to anyone who has paid to enter the show hall
Qualifying will be open from Sat 10:00-17:00, Sat 19:00-22:00 (where preference will be given to those people who have been scoring through the day) & Sun 10:00-12:00
Each entry ticket is priced at £10, no pre registering is required.
Players can purchase as many additional tickets as they wish for £5 each
There will be no refunds given for tickets purchased, but not played
Qualifying
For each entry the player will play 3 games from a bank of 10 machines covering a range of eras
Each game will be ranked according to the other scores on that table. (100, 95, 90, 89, 88, ….)
The player's 3 scores will be added to get a final total - qualifying score
Each purchased entry will produce an independent total (players are free to play a different 3 games if they choose)
The 24 players with the highest totals will qualify for the final on Sunday at 1pm
Ties
Ties will be decided by dropping the players worst machine score, then 2nd worse, then 3rd worse.
If the players still can't be split, their lowest score will be dropped (e.g. 100, 95, 50 beats 95, 95, 55)
Ties for seeding only will be by the toss of a coin.
Ties for byes and qualification will be on a single machine drawn randomly
Finals
The top 8 qualifiers will have a bye for the first round, but must be present by 12:45pm to register, and confirm their attendance.
The finals will start Sun 13:00 PROMPT
8 pairs will be picked based on the player's qualifying positions from Q9 to Q24
Players play a best of 3, with first named player having choice of position for the first game, second named player having choice for second game, and toss a coin if a decider is needed.
The machines are preselected from the bank of qualifying machines, because of this no player will play the same game twice during the run to the final, and will significantly cut down on waiting times between games.
The machines for the final will be drawn at random from the bank of 10 used in qualifying
