CNY Pinball Location League - Spring 2017 Season
April - June 2017
Qualifying session 1: April 3rd - 30th
Qualifying session 2: May 1st - 31st
League Season Finals: Tentatively June 3rd at 1PM at Syracuse Pinheads / Cloud City Comics

Each month scoring will be open for 2 or 3 location pinball machines in the greater Syracuse area. Scoring will remain available for the whole month until the last day at midnight. The locations and games will be announced shortly before each session starts.
Play the location game whenever and as much as you want during that time. Submit scores by taking a picture and either posting them to the Location League Facebook page or by sending them directly to a CNY Pinball official (guidelines below).
League standings:
-----------------
Each player will receive points based on their score relative to other players. Those points will be added to the overall league standings to determine seeding and eligibility for the finals.
Note: Per IFPA rules only players who submit scores for at least half of the league games will be counted in the standings!
After the 2 qualifying sessions the top 12* players will move on to a 4-player group matchplay format finals with 4 games per round (any ties in qualifying will be resolved via one-game tiebreaker).
The top 4 players will get a first round bye. The bottom 8* will be split into two groups of 4 players for the first round.
2 players will advance from each group to the next round and will each be matched up with 2 other players for the semifinals.
2 players from both of those groups will advance to the final 4.
In each round the top seed in the group will "drive the bus". They will have choice of the 4 games that will be played for the match. They will also get choice of play order for the first game. The choice of order for subsequent games will be based on reverse finishing order.
*If less than 12 players enter the league everyone makes the finals.
*If less than 12 players are present at the finals the groups will be adjusted to accommodate (see appendix).
Scoring will be 3.5-2-1-0
Advancing players will be re-seeded for groupings after each round
Bounties and prizes:
--------------------
Grand Champion Bonus - Set and retain (until the end of the month) the grand champion score during the month of play on the selected location machine and you will receive an additional $5 bonus (limit one per player per qualifying session)
Clean Sweep Bonus - Get the top qualifying score on ALL of the regular season games for a special prize!
The league finals champion will receive a small trophy and a $10 gift card (or cash)
Score submission guidelines:
----------------------------
1-Make sure that the picture includes a little bit of background to identify the location and that the score can be read clearly.
2-Games must be played and scores submitted during the time designated for that location (no early or late submissions allowed).
3-Games must be played completely only by the person the score is being submitted for (no helping or claiming the scores of others).
Penalties for violating these guidelines are at the discretion of CNY Pinball officials. Scores will be accepted or rejected based on the discretion of CNY Pinball officials.
Other rules:
------------
This is location play, the games will not be perfect. As they say in golf, play it as it lies. Minor malfunctions are to be played through, if it happens to ruin the game in progress - sorry sh*t happens! When it does please continue to show respect for the machines as if they were your own, breaking it worse doesn't help anyone. Please don't intentionally damage the machines.
If there is a major malfunction that makes the game unplayable please report it to a CNY Pinball official. This may include a malfunction that causes unearned points to be scored, such as a switch stuck closed or repeatedly registering phantom hits. The call for whether an issue with the game makes it unplayable will be at the discretion of CNY Pinball officials. If a game is down for at least half the qualifying time then the game will be removed from the league standings.
