CNY Pinball Location League 2016
January - December 2016 (Qualifying January - November, December is Finals Month)
Free to join - the only cost is coin drop on the games!
Each month scoring will be open for at least one location pinball machine in the greater Syracuse area. Scoring wil remain available for the whole month until the last day at midinight. The locations will be announced shortly before each session starts.
Play the location game whenever and as much as you want during that time. Submit scores by taking a picture and either posting them to the event's Facebook page or by sending them directly to a CNY Pinball official (guidelines below).
League standings:

Each player will receive linear scoring points based on their standing and number of players that played the machine during the month (bottom score is worth 1 point, top score is equal to the number of players). Scores from each game will be added to the overall league standings.
At the end of the 11 qualifying months the top 6 players will move on to a bracket format finals (any ties in qualifying will be resolved via one-game tiebreaker). The bracket will consist of 3 rounds of best of 5 games matches. Tiebreaker for players eliminated in the same round will be qualifying order. If less than 12 players take part in the league then the number of qualifiers will be reduced to conform to the IFPA playoff standards of 10-50% of players.
First round will be 3rd vs 6th, and 4th vs 5th
Second round is the 1st vs winner of 4v5 and 2nd vs winner of 3v6
Finals round is the winners of round two for the championship.
In each round the better seed will have choice of the location game that will be played for the match. They will also get choice of play order for the first game. The loser of each game gets to pick order of play for the next game.
The league champion will receive a small trophy and a $25 gift card

Winner Bonus - Have a drink on me at our next bar tournament or league event
Grand Champion Bonus - Set and retain (until the end of the month) the grand champion score during the month of play on the selected location machine and you will receive an additional $10 bonus
Underdog Victory Bonus - anyone that gets the top qualifying score while ranked outside of the top 3000 in the IFPA rankings, and has never had a top score in Location League before, will receive an additional $5 bonus
Score submission guidelines:

1-Make sure that the picture includes a little bit of background to identify the location and that the score can be read clearly.
2-Games must be played and scores submitted during the time designated for that location (no early or late submissions allowed).
3-Games must be played completely only by the person the score is being submitted for (no helping or claiming the scores of others).
Penalties for violating these guidelines are at the discretion of CNY Pinball officials. Scores will be accepted or rejected based on the discretion of CNY Pinball officials.
Other rules:

This is location play, the games will not be perfect. As they say in golf, play it as it lies. Minor malfunctions are to be played through, if it happens to ruin the game in progress - sorry sh*t happens! When it does please continue to show respect for the machines as if they were yuor own, breaking it worse doesn't help anyone. Please don't intentionally damage the machines.
If there is a major malfunction that makes the game unplayable please report it to a CNY Pinball official. This may include a malfuntion that causes unearned points to be scored, such as a switch stuck closed or repeatedly registering phantom hits. The call for whether an issue with the game makes it unplayable will be at the discretion of CNY Pinball officials. If a game is down for at least half the qualifying time the game will be removed from the league standings.
