September 2007 Update

sept2007.jpgAugust was another exciting month for the IFPA. We saw another increase in our player base from 1334 players in August to 1428 players in September! The first US Major Tournament of 2007 (California Extreme) saw a record number of tournament participants in its 11 year history. We are also pleased to announce that Stern Pinball Inc. and the IFPA have formed an alliance in our continued fight to increase the awareness of competitive pinball. We have many announcements to come in regards to this alliance, the first of which is the 1st Stern-IFPA Pinball Championship held at the AMOA Show at the end of September. For more information please email the IFPA. We have also started listing the Stern machines that are being featured at the hundreds of IFPA endorsed tournaments held across the world. Please check out the tournaments on our Tournament Calendar for more details.

Biggest movers during August included Johnny Modica moving up 357 spots by qualifying in the Modern Division at California Extreme. James Edes moved up 339 spots by finishing in the half of participants in the EM Division at California Extreme. Paul Sonier jumped 230 spots due to his 2nd place finish at Shorty’s Sunday Night Pinball in August.
