Last year the IFPA created the Women’s World Pinball Championship for the top ranked women in the World Pinball Player Rankings.

We have been excited to also see the growth of Women-only tournaments and leagues, and wanted to do more to promote those kind of events.

So . . . we’re creating a separate WPPR ranking specifically designed for Women-only events. We plan on using this separate rankings system to select additional women as Wild Card spots for the Women’s World Championship starting in 2018.

To kick things off we need your help! Similar to when we launched the original WPPR system, we spent months gathering as many results of tournaments and leagues that we could. We now need to do this for any Women-only event that’s ever happened to help kick the rankings off.

As most have figured out by now, I’ve been helping out the IFPA with results and calendar submission approvals for a while now and will be for the foreseeable future.  But I could really use the help of the pinball community today!

It’s fair to say sponsorship of the IFPA Women’s World Pinball Championship is now trending!

Following the anonymous $250 donation matching Spooky Pinball’s $250 donation, Stern Pinball has stepped up to sponsor the Women’s World Champion with the donation of an official topper from their catalog ($500 value).

This now puts the top prize at $2000 . . . will it ever stop??

Shortly after the announcement of Spooky Pinball’s sponsorship of the IFPA Women’s World Pinball Championship the IFPA received a mysterious email into our inbox.

An anonymous donor has agreed to match their $250 donation to the World Champion prize!

This now puts the top prize at $1500 . . . and growing?? We will certainly follow up with any future news!

We’re nearly halfway through the 2016-17 IFPA State Championship Series season, and we couldn’t be more excited about the continued growth of interest in the SCS.

The inaugural SCS season saw 5235 players participate, the 2014-15 season saw that number grow to 6690 players, while the 2015-16 season grew to 9900 players. The 2016-17 season has currently pulled in 6857 participants so far this season, and we’re excited about crossing that 10,000 player threshold for the year.

We currently have 37 states included in the SCS, which will all culminate in the IFPA State Championship finals. These finals will all be held simultaneously on February 11th, 2017, with 592 finalists competing for not only a State Championship title, but also a spot in the IFPA US National Pinball Championship.

For those players north of the US border, the IFPA Canada Provincial Championship Series is also currently in progress. Current standings for the Canada PCS are available HERE. A reminder that the Provincial Champions also qualify to participate in the US National Championship.

A reminder that the official satellite spots for the IFPA14 World Pinball Championship will come from the 2016-17 IFPA US National Pinball Championship, and the 2016-17 IFPA European Pinball Championship. The highest finisher in each final that has not yet qualified for IFPA14 will win a free spot into the World Championship.
