At this point the comparisons to Tiger Woods can stop, because Tiger Woods wishes he was as good at golf as Keith Elwin is at pinball.

Keith captured his record 9th Major Championship with a victory at the 2016 Pinburgh Match Play Championships this past weekend in dominating fashion, while also expanding his record for the most top 4 finishes in Major Championships to 15. 2015-16 IFPA California State Pinball Champion, Karl DeAngelo increased his top 4 finishes in Major Championships to 2, while both Raymond Davidson and Cryss Stephens increased their top 4 finishes in Major Championships to 3.

IFPA and POP Team Up For Charity Tournaments!

poplogo2We are pleased to announce that September will be POP month at the International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA)! Tournament directors around the country will be holding events to benefit POP and its mission to improve the lives of children by sharing the history and excitement of the game of pinball. The funds raised in September will go towards our high priority projects including purchasing a van to transport games for charity events, ongoing outreach projects, and day to day operations at POP HQ where pinball is offered for free to kids everyday.

All IFPA rules regarding ranking and points will remain the same for these tournaments as any other tournament. The 30 day rule is in effect for this campaign.
“For the last two years, the IFPA has helped us raised funds for outreach programs, games, and our Portland HQ.” said Nicole Anne Reik, POP’s Executive Director. “The opportunity to once again partner with the IFPA for a month enables us to continue to generate funding that makes a significant impact.”
“Being able to continue to support POP however we can has been a great experience. After teaming up with them on the GoFundMe to help raise additional funds, dedicating September to furthering their cause is something we didn’t hesitate to support.” said Josh Sharpe, President of the IFPA.

If you would like to run a tournament in your area, you can submit the details to the IFPA HERE. If you have never run a tournament before, or are interested in assistance promoting your event, we are happy to help in whatever ways possible. We understand that these events can be somewhat intimidating, but we have run a very large number of tournaments and we’ll do everything we can to make yours a success. We are also happy to answer any questions about our organization, our mission, and how we are going to use the money we raise. Feel free to contact Greg Dunlap at [email protected] with any questions you have.
