IFPA/POP GoFundMe hits the $800 goal!

gofundmeWe made it! The original goal of $800 was reached in just 10 days!

Figured it was worth keeping this thing going for a while longer. Next goal is $1200, which would up the Women’s World Champion prize to $1000!

A big thanks to everyone that helped us crush this thing in such a short amount of time.

At $800 and the 50/50 split for the campaign, this puts the top prize for the Women’s World Champion at $800 and counting, with $400 going to POP!

Help raise money for IFPA and POP!

gofundmeThe International Flipper Pinball Association and Pinball Outreach Project are teaming up on a GoFundMe campaign to try and raise some funds for both the POP charity and the Women’s World Pinball Championship.

In 2016 the International Flipper Pinball Associated crowned the world’s first Women’s World Pinball Champion. Featuring the top 16 ranked women from around the world, we’re excited to announce that the 2nd annual championship has been scheduled for March 2017.

We’re reaching out to the community to try and help increase the prize money for the eventual Women’s World Pinball Champion. Currently the prize pool is made up solely of entry fees from the competitors resulting in a $400 prize to the winner. Our goal is to try and at least double that prize through this fundraiser.

We are teaming up with the Pinball Outreach Project who’s mission has been to improve the lives of children by sharing the history and excitement of the game of pinball.

POP has done this through:
– Bringing the game of pinball directly to children in hospitals, schools and community centers
– Making pinball accessible to children by offering a family friendly venue to play free pinball.
– Spreading awareness of our mission by hosting fundraisers and tournaments.

The money generated by this fundraiser will go a long way towards helping both organizations.

Our plan is a simple 50/50 fundraiser, so every dollar donated will go 50% to POP and 50% to the Women’s World Champion prize.

Let’s raise a bunch of money for POP and give our next Women’s World Champion a prize to be excited about!

IFPA State Championship Series – June 2016 Update!

ifpa state championship series v2We’re nearly halfway through the 2016-17 IFPA State Championship Series season, and we couldn’t be more excited about the continued growth of interest in the SCS.

The inaugural SCS season saw 5235 players participate, the 2014-15 season saw that number grow to 6690 players, while the 2015-16 season grew to 9900 players. The 2016-17 season has currently pulled in 6857 participants so far this season, and we’re excited about crossing that 10,000 player threshold for the year.

We currently have 37 states included in the SCS, which will all culminate in the IFPA State Championship finals. These finals will all be held simultaneously on February 11th, 2017, with 592 finalists competing for not only a State Championship title, but also a spot in the IFPA US National Pinball Championship.

View the current SCS standings HERE.

For those players north of the US border, the IFPA Canada Provincial Championship Series is also currently in progress. Current standings for the Canada PCS are available HERE. A reminder that the Provincial Champions also qualify to participate in the US National Championship.
