Zach McCarthy wins 2nd Major Championship!

In the history of competitive pinball, very few (34 in fact) have had the chance to call themselves a Major Champion. Like professional golf or tennis, the opportunity to join this elite club only happens a handful of times every year. THE OPEN – IFPA World Championship brought together three finalists looking to add their name to this list (Viggo Löwgren, Tim Sexton and Luke Nahorniak) and one finalist looking to add to their already established legacies (Zach McCarthy – 1-time Major Champion).

After qualifying as the #1 seed, Zach McCarthy had things clinched after two games with a dominating performance in the final to capture his 2nd Major Championship, becoming only one of 14 players to do so.

With his 2nd place finish, Viggo Löwgren earned his first top 4 finish in Major Championships. 3rd place went to Luke Nahorniak who earned his 1st top 4 finish in Major Championships. 4th place went to Tim Sexton who earned his 1st top 4 finish in Major Championships.
