Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: June 16, 2015
Each player will play every other player in a best 2 out of 3 match. So the number of matches per player is N-1, where N is the number of participants. In the event of more than 8 players, we will introduce a swiss style approach. This approach will match players of like records against each other.
During a match, both players will participate in a four player game. Player A's better score will be compared to Player B's worse score. The higher score between the two will earn 1 point. Player A's worse score will be compared to Player B's better score. The higher score between the two will earn 1 point.
If one player has two points, the match ends and that player earns a victory. If both players have one point each, a tie breaker game will be played on the same machine. This game will be a two player match.
Once all matches are concluded, we will then go into playoffs. A player's record against the other players in the event will be used to determine the playoff participants. We expect a top 4 with an estimated 8-10 players participating. We will only increment at bracket friendly levels. So Top 2, Top 4, Top 8, Top 16 or Top 32. Playoffs will never be more than 50% of the total participants.
We expect 8-10 Players, so the playoffs will be best 2 out of 3.
With 8 players, we expect at least 21 significant games for the round robin portion (7 matches times 3 possible games)
We expect 6 significant games for the playoffs. (2 Rounds of Playoffs time 3 possible games)
