Tournament Overview

Tournament Date: March 16, 2025

Monthly weekend pinball tournament at My Parents' Basement!

Dungeons & Dragons: The Tyrant's Eye Launch Party!

Entry fee: $5 plus dollars for games
Register from 11:30-11:55 am
First round starts at 12:00 pm noon

** Qualifying **
7 rounds of group match play with one game per round (12 pm to approx. 3:30 pm)
Top 8 players advance to finals

** Finals **
Group match play elimination bracket
2 games per round
7/4/2/0 scoring

** More details **
For qualifying:
Balanced pairings (you'll be grouped with a variety of other players)

For the cut to finals:
Full game tiebreaker to get into finals for any players tied on match points at the end of qualifying.

For seeding:
Ties broken randomly using order listed in qualifying standings.

For finals:
Top two players from each group advance to the next round of finals; bottom two players are eliminated.
Two games per round.
7/4/2/0 scoring (this helps lead to fewer ties).
One of the two machines played will be Dungeons & Dragons.
Group 1 (seeds 1, 4, 5, and 8) plays a different machine first and then plays D&D as their second game.
Group 2 (seeds 2, 3, 6, and 7) plays D&D first and then a second game on a different machine.

Players make choice of game or position in seed order based on available remaining choices.
Possible example: Top seed picks the machine for their group's game 1 then the other players in the group choose to go 4th, 3rd, and 2nd; the top seed ends up going 1st. Then for the next game top seed choose to go 4th since the game has already been chosen as D&D and the lowest seed in the group ends up going 1st.

If players are tied for the advance/elimination cut then those tied players will play a full tiebreaker game.
Top seed among tied players will get to choose game or position and must choose a machine different than the ones that they have played that round.

Note: We are NOT using Critical Hit cards for this tournament; I mentioned them in some advertising but I'm not ready to take on that chaos.
