Tournament Overview

Tournament Date: May 04, 2025

Format: Match Play / 3-Strikes Tournament with Spell Cards

Cost: $10 or possibly FREE if you're lucky with a D20.

The $1 IFPA fee will be covered by the tournament director. 100% of fees will be paid out in prizes.

*Note - this format has a tendency to run LONG. Modifications have been made to the ruleset in an effort to maximize play time for all participants while not spending the entire day at the arcade.

Maximum of 40 players!

Every player ranked WPPR 12000+ will receive two random spell cards at registration. WPPR 1-11999 will receive one random spell card. There are two phases to the tournament:

Phase 1: Match Play / Earn Spell Cards Placed into pseudo-random groups of 4 (sometimes 3) the top two players after each game will earn a spell card. Three games total will be played during this phase (unless the actions of a card are used that may extend this portion beyond 3 games). Upon the conclusion of Phase 1, any additional spell cards not awarded will be discarded.

Phase 2: 3-Strikes
Placed into random groups of 4 (sometimes 3) the bottom three players after each game will receive a strike. In the case of a 3 player group, only the 3rd place player will receive a strike. Games and positions will be selected with MatchPlay.events. Players are eliminated from the tournament once they receive 3 strikes.
