Hangar Pinballs Stern Army - John Wick Pinball Launch Party
TD: Chris Wood
Entry fee is $6 (bounty chip and IFPA fee) + coin drop
Magoo’s – June 29th, 12:00pm
Every assassin in the world sticks to a strict code for conducting "business.” Hangar Pinball is conducting that “business” June 29th, 12:00pm at Magoo’s. Join other assassins in training at our Stern Army – John Wick Pinball Launch Party.
This will be a unique pinball experience for this launch. This will be a John Wick 4 Strikeout Bounty. Each assassin will be given a Hangar Pinball bounty chip. You will compete with others to eliminate your opponents and collect chips. Seeding will be IFPA to start with balanced pairing and arenas.
This strikeout format is a standard strikeout: 4-player group - 3rd and 4th place in that group gets 1 strike; 3-player group - last place in that group gets 1 strike. The objective is to knock out people with their 4th strike and collect their chip (worth $5 per chip and collected at the end of the tournament).
If two people are eliminated in a group, the 1st and 2nd place finishers in the group (assuming 4 player group; 3 player group it will be the 1st place finisher) receive a chip from each of the two who are eliminated. At the end of the strikeout, you trade in any chips you won during the tournament to collect your "bounty." If you are one of the last 4 in the strikeout, see the details below AND hold onto your chips!
If you are one of the last 4 in the strikeout standings, you 4 will compete in a double elimination, best of 3 games. The highest seed (1) from the strikeout will play the lowest seed (4); the 2nd seed will play the 3rd seed. Each player in the group gets to select a pin they want to play with the higher seed getting first choice. However, with the game each selects, they must be player 1. If there is a tie (1-1) in the round, the player who finished with the higher seed will pick the next game OR player order.
If you are in the losers bracket, you will play a winner take all (one game) to get back into the High Table. The one who is knocked out, if they have any chips remaining, will give their chip to the winner of the round. The winners of the first round of 3 games will play another round of 3 games. The loser of that round will play the winner in the losers bracket to have “one more chance” at survival. Once there are two remaining assassins, they will play one last game on John Wick for the Stern Army – John Wick Pinball Launch Party Grand Champion plaque.
Assassins in training, beware. A few select pins during this strikeout will have “hitmen or markers” (0 ball saves, tilt warnings reduced, or maybe an extra ball(s) to play). Those details will come a few days before the event.
Additional details, goodies, and fun stuff will be coming. Stay tuned!
