Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: May 11, 2024
Come and join in the fun at our Stern Army May Banks Tournament. Registration will begin at 11:30am and tournament will start at 12pm. $20 to enter ($10 to the prize pool, $1 IFPA fees, $9 to the house for maintenance, repairs, snacks and games set to freeplay).
We will be doing a 4 round 2 game bank (one DMD/ mid game and one modern Stern) in Matchplay for qualifying with using the 7/5/3/1 scoring and swiss seeding. The top 4, 8 or 16 (depending on number of participants) will be going to finals. We will play a one game playoff for any ties for the top 4,8 or 16 for qualifying. Finals will consist of the top 4, 8 or 16 players playing 3 rounds of 3 game banks with 4 players in a group playing 3 games one at a time with 4/2/1/0 scoring on each game. The top 2 players Advance, Bottom 2 are Eliminated. If we have a tie for 2nd or 3rd in the 1st or 2nd round another game will be chosen and the affected players will have a tiebreaker on that game with the higher seed having 1st choice of order.
The 8 Eliminated players will be ranked 9th-16th according to the accumulated points in this round. Ties will not be broken.
For the semifinals round, 8 players advancing will be divided into two groups of 4. The 4 Eliminated players from this group will be ranked from 5th-8th based on the accumulated points from this round. Ties will not be broken.
The four remaining players advance to the final round. The final round is conducted in the same manner as the semifinal round. The total scores for this round will determine the ordering of the winners. All ties in the final round will be broken with a 1 game playoff. Order choice will be given to the higher original seed. Payouts for the Top 4.
If you are traveling from out of town we have tons of reasonably priced hotels close by and feel free to BYOB and bring snacks.
