Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: November 15, 2014
Game play and submission starts at 5:00 pm
Finals at or very close to 8:00 pm
Using TPF style herb scoring to determine rankings. Number of players determine number of division finals (single elim).
No entry fee. All ages welcome to compete, but please note there is no handicapping. Please provide your correct name as listed on IFPA site when signing up! All players must provide their own tokens for play. Games are .50 each, so plan on bringing a few bucks at least. If you win a free game or match on a tournament game, just "Pay it Forward" and leave it for the next round. Those two players can then pay 1 token each for their match, or rock/paper/scissors to determine who takes the free game if you have an issue with having odd numbers of tokens. ;)
Please, out of both courtesy to other players as well as my sanity, limit yourself to one personal game at a time. I dont care if you and Gary Stern want to play games on the same machine at the same time and there two credits in use. I do care if you drop eight tokens in a machine to play four games at the same time for your own personal play. Youll get one warning and then youll be asked to leave.
In the event of a true stuck ball we will do our best to clear the jam back to a "safe" area that allows the player to continue play, in a timely manner so that the game doesnt ball search and end the ball, but the code on some games (AVENGERS, IM LOOKING AT YOU!) is kind of flaky when it comes to that and it will end your turn if not dealt with fairly quickly, so make sure you notify one of the available parties! We will try to make it so that Jennifer or myself arent playing at the same time, but in the event we need to be, then someone else who isnt playing will be available to clear the ball jam. Because this is not a "serious" competition in terms of prizes or anything, and we want everyone to have a good time and not have to worry about rules technicalities, extra balls are allowed to be played so that we dont have to mess with their software settings, so study up on those rules!
Outside drinks and food are not allowed per theatre rules, and theyd prefer you keep food and drink out of the arcade area, but there are tables right outside the arcade area along with a concessions bar. This shouldnt be an issue but I figure it bears mentioning for anyone that may not have been there. We dont have any special permissions contrary to their normal rules
