Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: September 28, 2014
This is your chance to visit the Chicago Pinball EXPO for free. Winning this tournament will pay for your transportation to Chicago, your room, your breakfast, lunch & dinner, your entry into the pinball show, even your adult libations for the weekend!
Qualifying Sunday September 28th, 10am -3pm. Finals will start after all scores are entered.
Tournament will take place at the Bradish Street Pinball Parlor.
This is an IFPA Periodic Sanctioned Event.
Qualifying is limited entry best game format. There will be a bank of 6 games to be determined, you will get 15 tickets to use how you see fit but each game must be played at least once. No additional tickets can be purchased. A player's best score will be used for each machine. The player will be ranked on their best scores on all games in the tournament.
Cost to enter is $10 for 15 entries. Additional entries cannot be purchased.
This is an open event, one division.
At the end of qualifying the top 12 players make the playoffs. Top 4 players get a bye into the final 8. The bottom 8 (ranked 5-12) start match play.
Match Play Mayhem format. Highest seeded player gets choice of 1 of the following: opponent, game or order. Then the next highest seeded player gets their choice until all match ups have been decided. 3 strikes and you are eliminated from the tournament. After each game is played, competitors will restart the selection process. Players may not choose the same first selection as the previous round. Final 2 advance to the Grand Final. If a bye is necessary between any rounds of elimination, the highest seeded player in that round will receive the bye to the next round.
Grand Final will follow the same format. The 2 additional competitors added from the previous round will be re-ranked based on how they performed in the previous round. If they were tied then rank will be decided based on how they qualified.
