Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: January 20, 2024
Tournament Date: January 20, 2024
IFPA Ohio State Pinball Championship 2023
The top 24 players in Ohio as of December 31, 2023 will be invited to play in the state championship. The tournament will be a head-to-head, single elimination bracket with best-of-7 matches. Top 8 receive first-round byes. No practice on tournament games in-between matches will be allowed once the tournament begins (aside from the usual 30 seconds of practice granted to each player before each game).
Tournament date: Saturday January 20, 2024
Location: Arcade Legacy Sharonville
Time: Doors at 10am for warm up, check-in by 10:45am, tournament starts at 11:00am
This event will follow NACS rules found here: https://www.ifpapinball.com/series/nacs/2023/rules.php
NOTABLE CHANGES THIS YEAR:
- Games will be divided into 3 eras: Old, Mid, and New
- The first 6 games of each match will be chosen up-front, before the match begins (the order in which the games are played, however, is not determined up-front)
- Each player will choose 3 games, 1 from each era (as usual, the same machine cannot be played twice within a single match)
- Once the match begins, machine choice will alternate between players after each game
- A player can only choose from among their own games (ie, the games they selected at the beginning of the match)
- Top seed decides which player gets to choose the first game
- Choice of position for each game is given to the player that did not choose the machine. ie, if you're playing a game that your opponent picked, you get choice of position.
- If a match reaches game 7, the top seed will have choice of game or position for the "Sudden Death" game. No era restrictions apply for the 7th game.
Game List: TBD
