Tournament Overview

Start Date: September 27, 2023
End Date: November 22, 2023

Join in on the first pinball league happening at Eventide Brewing!

We'll have 8 league nights starting on 9/27 with a league session every Wednesday. The last regular season league night will be on 11/15.

New players are invited to join in on the fun, even if just to check it out for a week or two any time during the season.

Show up to Eventide by 7pm on Wednesdays to join in on that night's league. Each league night will consist of you playing with a group for 4 games of pinball (from 7 pm to around 8:30-8:45).

-------

Nitty Gritty details below:

The league finals is tentatively planned for 11/22 (this is the 9th Wednesday but it is also the day before Thanksgiving so we will attempt to reschedule for a different date sometime between 11/16 and 11/30 if the players involved in the final all reach an agreement on a better time).

League member entry fee: $5 (one time league fee for the whole season, not per session)
League member entry fee is waived for players who are new to IFPA pinball events and for players with an IFPA ranking outside of the top 15,000.
Guests are also welcome to play in the league without playing the entry fee if space allows during any league session.
League entry fees will be used for IFPA sanctioning and for trophies for the top finishers.

League session format: Group match play (in groups of 3 or 4 players) on randomly selected games with randomly selected opponents. 4 games per session. Match points awarded as 7/5/3/1 for 1st/2nd/3rd/4th in each game (or 7/4/1). Play with the same group for all 4 games (this pairings rule may be adjusted halfway through the season; to be determined)

League standings will include all players who participate in at least 50% of the league sessions (4 sessions out of 8).

League standings will be determined by the match points from each player's best 5 sessions. The top half of the players in the league standings will be invited to the league finals. Full game tiebreaker at the conclusion of the last regular season league session if needed to determine who makes it into the last spots of the finals.

League finals format: Group elimination match play. 2 games per round. Top 2 advance from each group. Full game use if needed for a tiebreaker to advance to the next round. The last round of the finals will be a top 4 final round. Rounds prior to that employ byes for the top seeded players or we may use groups of 3 player or groups of 4 players depending on the total number of players (e.g. a 12 player finals would use 4 groups or 3 players with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinal round). We will publish details on the specifics of the finals once we have a better idea of the number of players in the league (by the Monday before the last league session at the very latest).

TGP Estimate (between one of the following two extremes):
Low - 5 regular season sessions counted x 4 games per session x multiplier of 1.5 for 3-player groups + top 4 final of 2 games per round = 38 meaningful games for 152% TGP
High - 5 regular season sessions counted x 4 games per session x multiplier of 2 for 4-player groups + top 12 final of 2 games per round = 50 meaningful games for 200% TGP
