Come and WIN a Williams Funfest Pinball Machine via raffle!!!
Date: Sunday October 1, 2023
Start Time - League: NOON
Start Time - THIS TOURNAMENT: Approximately 1:30 PM
Silent Auction End and Pinball Machine Giveaway time: 7:00 PM
--- Minimum suggested donation is $25 PER PERSON at entry. More is WELCOMED as well - but any amount is accepted ---
THIS CHARITY FUNRAISER WILL INCLUDE A DFW PINBALL LEAGUE EVENT, A TOURNAMENT, A RAFFLE, and A SILENT AUCTION - Don't miss this one!!
THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
THIS IS FAMILY FRIENDLY as my children will likely be playing pinball too!
BEFORE WE GET INTO HOW IT WORKS, KNOW THIS:
--- We have a GREAT silent auction!
--- We will be giving away a WILLIAMS FUNFEST Pinball Machine! … SO please bring money to try and win this too!
--- Anyone that comes can play on the machines - even if they aren't in the tournament! We just ask for a charitable donation please!
HERE's HOW IT WORKS:
--- We usually have between 20 and 30 pinball and arcade games in our house, ALL set for free play (no coins needed).
--- NO RSVP needed because there is NO headcount limit for this event
--- All of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the 501(c)3 organizations we have chosen - we are covering ALL overhead ourselves.
There are THREE WAYS TO PLAY:
Play in as much or as little as you like.
Its a PARTY first, with a little pinball mixed in!
We provide a variety of choices, so everyone can do what they are comfortable with...
Your entry fee covers ALL THREE WAYS TO PLAY - league, tournament, and kids play ... so you are welcome to play as much or as little as you like!
(1) DFW Pinball League's Fall Event 4 (ON THE IFPA LEAGUE PAGE):
Each player will play in four games with groupings that are "Balanced across the series" in Matchplay.
Players will play 4 games in a group of 4 people.
Its that simple!
Each league qualifier will be structured the same.
(2) The Alan Marx Memorial Pinball Tournament (THIS EVENT):
This starts immediately AFTER the league play - maybe about 1:30 PM?!
Qualifying is "group matchplay style". This means you'll be playing in four player groups on multiple machines.
Playoffs/Finals will LIKELY be Group Elimination/PAPA Style, which is similar to the above, but with lower performing players being eliminated as we go forward (until there's a winner).
--- ALL skill levels welcome with trophies or plaques for multiple divisions:
A Division: "The Pros"
B Division: "Best of the Rest" - restricted based on rules published on the league website so everyone can win!
C Division: Limited to players outside of the top 2500 in the IFPA rankings - so true novices can win too!
--- Division size will depend on number of players.
We will ALSO have random door prizes like T-Shirts, Gift Cards, and More!
(3) Based on the standings after round 3 from the tournament's qualifying (from way to play 2), we also hold a:
----- "KIDZ FINAL"
This is ONE GAME played by kids aged 16 and under for a TOY BLASTER that has been provided by Jared Guynes' https://www.blasterbattle.com/ !!!
To insure that its fair and everyone can win, a child is EXCLUDED from the KIDZ FINAL for next TWO events after they WIN, thus giving other kids a chance to win too.
The KIDZ Final is unsanctioned/exclusive from the tournament playoffs.
That means kids can play in BOTH if they want to.
PARKING (Please Read):
We have plenty of parking on our 1 acre property.
However, please do NOT drive on the lawn to get around other cars.
I had to pay to replace 4 Sprinkler heads because of people driving on the lawn after last year's tournament!
Please stay on the concrete.
We can play "TETRIS" with the cars if needed.
************* BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE!!!!!
--- Food and non-alcoholic drink will be provided
--- Pot Luck for those that also want to help out and bring food or drink.
--- A list of the available silent auction items will be posted about 2-3 weeks before the event (maybe sooner if I can get to it).
--- This event benefits from some wonderful sponsors. Please support our sponsors.
