Qualifying Friday, October 13 from 1:00pm-9:00pm (7.5 hours of unlimited group qualifying with a 30 minute break between 5:00-6:00pm)
Finals Saturday, October 14 at 12:30PM
Entry Fee: $15 - $14 to prize pool and $1 IFPA fee. Plus coin drop. Amazing race A Final games will be credited because of the quick pace. Doors open at 11:00am, registration ends at 12:30pm, and roll call begins at 12:45pm.
Preregistration for this event will occur approximately one week (October 6) before the event.
Group matchplay (random seeding, balanced pairing across series, rotating order, ties will be broken by strength of opponents). Two matches per round (1 in bank A and 1 in Bank B). Extra balls will be off (plunge them if you get one, please).
Players will be placed into four player groups (occasionally three players) to compete on an individual, randomly selected machines from Bank A and B. Points will be awarded by performance on that machine and added to a running total for the tournament.
Qualifying ends at 9:00pm or after the last games in that round.
Four player groups: 7-5-3-1
Three player groups: 7-4-1
A Finals: (80% of prize pool for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd)
Will start at 12:30pm
Top 8 players qualify for A division finals.
Modified Amazing Race format. Top seed will pick the game or order to start with. All players play single player games on the same machine and the lowest score is knocked out.
B Finals: (15% of prize pool for 1st)
Will start at 12:45pm
Top 4 who didn’t qualify for A will play a 3-strike knockout.
C Finals: (5% of prize pool for 1st)
Top 4 who didn’t qualify for B will play a 3-strike knockout.
Additional Amazing Race Finals Rules:
-If during the finals a machine becomes unplayable due to malfunction, then that game/round is removed from the finals and players will move onto the next game without anyone being eliminated on the affected machine. A backup machine may be chosen to take its place by TD discretion.
Rulings:
Standard IFPA rulings apply to any issues regarding stuck balls, malfunctions, personal conduct, etc.
