MULTIPLE EVENTS GOING ON.
Play in as much or as little as you like.
Its a PARTY first, with a little pinball mixed in!
We provide a variety of choices, so everyone can do what they are comfortable with...
The cost is $10 per adult and $5 per child to play.
We TRULY want this to be about community! All skill levels welcome!! It's about having fun, eating, socializing, and playing pinball!! We had players as young as 3 years old & as old as 81 in our leagues. All we ask is that you respect each other, the host's home, and the machines! So, come Join us!
MULTIPLE WAYS TO PLAY:
WAYS TO PLAY 1 AND 2:
----- DFW 2023 PINBALL LEAGUE SPRING/SUMMER EVENT 5 (way to play 1) - This is a best score format in which players can play at their own pace. Further info is covered on the league page on the IFPA Pinball League Calendar.
DFW Pinball League scoring rules are published on the league's website (web address is at the end of this description).
WE WILL ALSO HAVE DOOR PRIZES FOR LEAGUE PARTICIPANTS SO RECORD YOUR SCORES TO BE ELIGIBLE!
----- The DFW Pinball Women's Pinball League (way to play 2) runs a concurrent event structured similarly to this one - see their Facebook page for specific rules: https://www.facebook.com/dfwwomenspinballleague/
WAY TO PLAY 3:
----- THE IFPA TOURNAMENT -
Qualifying is "group matchplay style". This means you'll be playing in four player groups on multiple machines.
Playoffs/Finals will LIKELY be Group Elimination/PAPA Style, which is similar to the above, but with lower performing players being eliminated as we go forward (until there's a winner).
THERE WILL BE PLAYOFFS FOR BOTH A AND B DIVISIONS SO ALL SKILL LEVELS CAN PLAY AND WIN!
We have PRIZES for the B Division players and ...
... ALSO random door prizes for ANYONE in the tournament regardless of standings/rankings!
The B Division is restricted based on rules published on the league website -- many of the top players are excluded from the B Division so that ANYONE CAN WIN!
For the tournament, Late entrants will be allowed until sometime AROUND 2:30 PM (halfway through qualifying).
WAY TO PLAY 4:
Based on the final standings from the tournament's qualifying (from way to play 3), we also hold a:
----- "KIDZ FINAL"
This is ONE GAME played by kids aged 16 and under for a TOY BLASTER that has been provided by Jared Guynes' www.blasterbattle.com !!!
To insure that its fair and everyone can win, a child is EXCLUDED from the KIDZ FINAL for next TWO events after they WIN, thus giving other kids a chance to win too.
The KIDZ Final is unsanctioned/exclusive from the tournament playoffs.
That means kids can play in BOTH if they want!
FOOD: I’ll have some food and drinks here but pot luck is good to ensure there is enough for a large group. People should bring their own adult beverages. I’ll have coolers and ice.
SPONSORS who provide some of the prizes and more - please support them AND let them know that you heard about them from the DFW Pinball League:
Free Play Arcade (https://freeplayinc.com/)
Jared's Epic Blaster Battle (https://www.blasterbattle.com/)
Lord of the Gameroom (www.lordofthegameroom.com)
Pinball Wheezer (https://www.facebook.com/pinballwheezer)
TITAN PINBALL (https://www.titanpinball.com/)
List of games (subject to change):
Black Pyramid
Count-Down
Dixieland
Flying Carpet
Future Spa
Galaxy
Gtb Circus
Lectronamo
Meteor
Quicksilver
Space Shuttle
Split Second
Xenon
HEALTH AND SAFETY:
We can have sanitizer and wipes available for attendees.
For people with severe allergies, we do have 3 cats and a dog. They will all be put away during the day of the event. We keep a very clean house so I hope it is a non-issue but wanted to mention it. I’ll be sure to clean and wipe down the pins prior to the tournament.
PARKING NOTES:
There is a city park across the street from us. It is a good spot to park, weather allowing. I’d ask that people DON'T PARL ON TALBOT, as it is a busy street that connects 3 developments and I’d hate for anyone to get damage from the neighbors that zip through.
HOSTS ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Be kind! Pins break and sometimes need work. My collection is a work in progress and I’m always doing my best to keep them working well.
I’m a very non-competitive person so I know very little about tournaments.
I love the games and sharing it with people, which is why I’m opening up my home to the local community.
Again, The cost is $10 per adult and $5 per child to play.
