Tournament Overview

Tournament Date: May 13, 2023

TD - Adam Nickel
Date: Saturday May 13th
Cost : $10 - (Covers entry into both tournaments + lunch)*

We will be running two tournaments May 13th. The goal is to have fun and try to play as many games as possible for maximum points. We will be running machine banks of statistically faster playing games. $10 will cover entry into both tournaments and cost of lunch (pizza). Any remaining funds will be used for payout for the 1st tournament. Payout will be 70/30 for 1st and 2nd place of the remaining funds after pizza and IFPA fees.

Tournament #1 - Beat the Clock
Doors Open - 10am
Tournament Begins - 10:30am

Format - We will play 2-game Rounds of Matchplay until 3pm. The round that is in progress at 3:00pm will be the last round. Player pairing will be random. There will be two banks of games: 90s through Modern and Classics. Each group will play one game from each bank that will be assigned randomly from Matchplay. The player order will be assigned randomly from Matchplay and remain the same for both games. Scoring will be 7/5/3/1 - 7/4/1 - The Top 4 will advance to a one round finals of 4 games. The Top seed will "bus drive" and select 2 games from each bank used in qualifying. Top seed will also be given player order selection for all games followed by the next highest seed and so on. Scoring will be 7/5/3/1.

Lunch will be ordered toward the end of the first tournament. Please let Adam know if you have preferences or dietary restrictions when paying.

Tournament # 2 - CJs Monthly Stern Army 4 Strikes
Start Time - After the conclusion of the Beat the Clock Finals. (ETA - 5:00 pm)

Format - We will be playing a strikes elimination tournament. Rounds will alternate between the two banks used in tournament #1. Machines may be added or removed from the banks between tournaments if there were any malfunctions. In four player groups the bottom two will receive a strike. In three player groups THE BOTTOM TWO WILL RECIEVE A STRIKE. Fours strikes and you're out. Last one standing wins. Players will be assigned to groups randomly. There will be prizes for the finalists but no payouts.

Please note that Mid-May is a prime season for actual storms. If there is a risk of very severe weather (hail/tornados) the day of the the tournaments this event will be postponed. If that happens it will be announced on the event page the night before. Make sure to check.

*Any players wanting to play in the 1st tournament only or both tournaments must pay $10 - Anyone wanting to play only in the 2nd tournament can pay $1 since there is no payout or meal.
