Amusement Worx Tournament Saturday 4th February 2023
The format for this tournament is group matchplay with single elimination finals.
The tournament will commence following the state championships final. Any questions at all let me know and I will get back to you asap. DATE Saturday February 4th.

2. **However, this tournament follows the SA State Championships final**.

This is a group matchplay tournament with single elimination finals using matchplay events. QUALIFYING:
1. Players will be placed in groups of 4 (or 3 if necessary).
2. First round groups will be based on IFPA rankings and subsequent rounds will be balanced.
3. There will be four separate rounds of three matches (12 games per player). 4. In each round each group will play a single game on three different machines and allocated points according to their finishing position.
5. Scoring system will be IFPA (7/5/3/1) (7/4/1).
6. The arenas may be placed in banks. Banks will be assigned in a balanced manner.
7. The top 8 players will advance to the finals.
8. Ties will be broken by comparing the strengths of opponents faced (automatic). FINALS:
1. Finals will be single elimination best of three games on different machines. 2. Players will be seeded according to their qualifying position. 3. The higher ranked qualifier for game one of each best of three has the choice of either: machine played OR going first or second. For game two the lower ranked player has choice etcetc. 4. In order to keep the finals progressing, players must choose from an available machine. There will be no waiting for a machine to become available.

Qualifying: Group Matchplay
1) Seeding: IFPA. 2) First round pairing: Slaughter. 3) General pairing: Balanced – matchplay will attempt to group players with previously unfaced opponents.
4) Player order: Rotating - Random order for the first game, then rotates player order evenly. 5) Scoring system: IFPA (7/5/3/1) (7/4/1). 6. The arenas may be placed in banks. Banks will be assigned in a balanced manner. 7) Duration: Four rounds. ???? Matches each round: Three matches. 9) The top 8 ranked qualifiers will proceed to the finals. 10) Tiebreaker: Automatic – ties will be broken by comparing the strengths of opponents faced.
