Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: November 19, 2022
Date: November 19th, 6pm $6 entry
This is a three-strike tournament with two twists: it will be critical hit AND there are strike removals to buy! Let’s talk basics first:
First and foremost this a three-strike tournament. In a group of four, bottom two will receive a strike and in a group of three, bottom ONE will receive a strike. As we get closer to the final groups, bottom one in a group of two will receive a strike. Initial seeding for round one will be RANDOM and then the subsequent round seeding will be RANDOM.
Now for the twists:
Critical Hit: Each player will receive two cards upon registration. Players also can earn an extra card at registration if they roll a critical hit (20) on a D20 dice that will be provide by the TD. Rounds One through Three, players who do NOT receive a strike will receive a card upon completion of the round. All remaining rounds until the final four, players who receive a strike, will earn a card in that round. Any cards used during the tournament will be placed in the discard pile and will no longer be used in the tournament. Any remaining cards by the time the tournament reaches the final four will be auctioned off at the end of each round before the next round is posted. One card per round will be auctioned until either the end of the tournament or there are no cards left. Starting bid for each card is $1.
Strike Removals: Players can BUY up to TWO strike removals throughout the entire tournament. Strike removals cost $5. Players can buy strikes at anytime during the tournament until the next round starts after they are eliminated. For example: If Jen receives her third strike, she can decide to buy a strike removal up until the last game has finished but before the next round has started. Once the next round has started, she will be officially eliminated unless she decided to buy a strike removal before the TD starts the next round. Players can buy strike removals at any time – regardless of the number of strikes they have, unless they have no strikes. You must have at least one strike to buy a strike removal. Strike removals must be purchased AFTER the player’s game has finished but before the next round begins. Strike removals must be purchased from a TD.
All money from buy ins will be donated to charity. The tournament cost is $6 with $1 going to the IPFA and top 3 being paid out.
