Overall

Maximum players: 90. All weekend price is $99 for Fri-Sun, Aug. 26-28 tourneys. This does not include separate entry into CNE grounds or additional optional entry purchases. $99 payment to be made to CNE@PinballLeds.ca. See website for all tourneys Aug. 26-28, 2022. Presented by Pinball Profile.

Qualifying will begin at 10am on Sat., Aug. 27th and end with no new games after 3:40 pm. You will be given 12 entries to put together your best 6 scores on a bank of 10 classics machines. Additional entries may be purchased at the price of 3 entries for $10. Unused entries when qualifying is done will not receive a refund.

Players will be added to a digital queue for a machine prior to play by themselves via the neverdrains.com software. If needed, a player may also ask a scorekeeper or the tournament desk to add them to a queue.
Once a player has completed their game, the player will raise their hand to signal a scorekeeper. The player may either choose to have the score recorded or to void the entry. Voiding the entry still counts as one of a player’s limited entries. Players are responsible for verifying it before the score is finalized. Taking a picture of the machine’s score display is highly encouraged to have a back-up reference in case of any scorekeeping errors.
Do not leave the machine prior to having a score recorded or voided. If a player leaves without waiting, the scorekeeper will void the entry. Players may be warned for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Scoring
Each player’s best score on a machine will receive a point value based on its rank compared to all other players’ scores. The #1 score earns 100 points, #2 score earns 97 points, #3 earns 95 points, and #4 through #90 earn one less point per position. A player’s overall score is the sum of their ranking scores on all machines in the tournament.
Only your top 6 games will count towards their qualifying point total. Rankings will change as new scores are posted on each machine. The overall score of each player may change as the qualifying rounds progress. In the event of two or more scores on a machine being exactly tied, the highest point value of the tied positions will be awarded for each such score.
Tournament officials will endeavor to provide up-to-date scores and rankings. The overall ranking scores are used to determine which players qualify for the playoff rounds. Classics Tournament Finals
** Classics 1 Finals begin with any significant tie-breakers for Top 16 at 4pm, followed by the Top 16 Finals. Finals players are required to check-in by 3:50pm, or they forfeit their Finals spot. **
Before Top 16 Finals begin, any ties to qualify for Finals will be broken on a machine selected by tournament officials. During the Finals, tiebreakers will be settled on an available machine chosen by the highest seed that was not played by their group during that finals round.

Finals will be played using a “PAPA style” format. Finalists will be placed into groups of 4 players. They play 3 games. At the beginning of each round, the top seed in each group gets to the pick a number N (from machines #1-9) as the first machine to be played during that round by their group, or they may choose playing position for the first machine. Their group will then play machines N, N+1, and N+2, with the group wrapping around back to machine #1 if N or N+1 is pin #9. Player order for machines N+1 and N+2 are chosen in reverse finishing order from the prior machine. Once a particular machine (Machine N) has been chosen as a starting first machine by one group, that machine may not be selected as the starting one by another group. Subsequent groups may end up playing Machine N as their second or third machine by selecting Machine N-1 or N-2 as their first machine. If one group is still playing on a second group’s machine N+1 or N+2 when it is the next machine for the second group to play, the second group shall wait for the first group to finish playing, and not leap-frog to a different machine. If a machine has a catastrophic malfunction, then any groups assigned to that machine will play the machine that is one number higher instead.
Scoring is 4-2-1-0 for the finishing positions. After 3 games, the top 2 players from each group advance.

Other Rules:
There will not be any warm-up period for Finals.
There may be both photography and streaming of this tournament. By registering for and playing in the tournament, each player grants CNE, PinballLEDs, and its media partners permission to use the player’s photographic/video image in streams, advertising, promotions, or other publication without payment or compensation to the player. All other rules (such as malfunctions, stuck balls, player conduct, etc.) will be governed by the PAPA/IFPA Competition ruleset.
