Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: March 23, 2022
Glitch Arcade Bar in Ft Lauderdale is hosting its 3rd pinball tournament and its first IFPA sanctioned event for IFPA WPPR Points (used in Florida and World Pinball Player Rankings).
Open to everyone over 21 years of age, beginners and competitors, individuals and couples. This is on a WEDNESDAY and is a "3 Strikes" format, meaning 4 players per round, play 1 machine and 3rd or 4th place get a strike. After 3 strikes a player is out. Plenty of arcade machines are at Glitch so anyone out of the pinball tournament has plenty of fun still to have.
This event is limited to 24 players, so arrive early as it is "first registered, first served" as they cannot take RSVPs for logistical reasons.
Registration begins at 6 pm, tournament will begin at 7 pm. So it is important to be there at 6 pm to ensure you get a spot.
Doors open at 5 pm for practice (Glitch has no cover but to play pinball it's standard $1 game or $2 for 3 games) although practicing is entirely optional. Entrants after 7:15 pm won't be able to play due to the logistics of adding late entries (assuming max capacity was not reached earlier). Actual tourney time depends how well one does. The earliest someone is likely to go out is about an hour into it and the event should run a few hours.
If you'd like to participate in the Tournament, it's only $5 plus "coin drop" meaning the minimal cost to play each game (typically about $1 each). All entry fees returned in the prize pool to the top few competitors. Pinball machines chosen randomly by the tournament software. In other words you'll play many people of various experience levels and on many different machines. At least 6 different pinball machines available:
Godzilla
The Mandalorean
Avengers Infinity Quest
Led Zeppelin
Iron Maiden
Metallica Pro
Deadpool
Rush
Wins/Losses kept on the big screen (and available to see on your cell phone). Top several players will win what's in the prize pool.
Never played in a pinball tournament? Rusty? New? No problem! Come on out and we will show you the ropes.
Tournament format and "rules" explained at the start of the event.
