Morristown Game Vault Pinball 2022

Join us on Tuesday evenings all year long. Every week is a brand-new tournament, as your host David Balsamini and your TDs Francesco La Rocca and Uchendu guide you to a year full of pinball competition and fun.

Monthly Rotation

Each month, we’ll host tournaments as follows:

· Week 1: Matchplay Group Knockout Each round, groups of 3 or 4 players compete, and the top 2 players in each group avoid a strike. Get 3 strikes and you’re out! Play continues until only one player remains. Only EM and Solid State machines will be used if possible.This format based on attendance can be also 2 or 4 strikes

· Week 2: Group Matchplay Each round, groups of 3 or 4 players compete and receive 7, 5, 3 or 1 point according to their result. After five rounds, the top 8 players advance to the Semi-finals. In Semi-finals, 2 groups of 4 compete, getting 3, 2, 1 or 0 points per game. After 3 games, the bottom 2 players in each group are eliminated (awarded 6th place), and the top two advance to the Finals. After 3 more games, a champion will be crowned. Only EM and Solid-State machines will be used for the final rounds.

· Week 3: Progressive/Fair Group Matchplay Knockout Each round, groups of 3 or 4 players compete. The worse your finish, the more strikes you receive (exact number of strikes will be announced). Hit the strike limit and you are out! Play continues until only one player remains.

· Week 4: Single-ball Group Matchplay The same format as week 2, except we won’t use any machines that have a multiball feature.Semifinals and finals same as week 2

· Week 5 (March, May, August and November): Bonus week! The format could be anything; 2 strike Group Knockout, 6 rounds of Group Matchplay or even Card-based qualifying or Flip Frenzy! You’ll find out on the night, and we think you’ll like it.

How to play

Come to Morristown Game Vault on Tuesdays at 6pm. It’s $15+tax to get in, stay and play free until closing or tournament end. Tell the front desk you are playing in the tournament.

In addition, it’s $5 to register for the tournament; $4 will go to the prize pool (top 4 players win cash!) and $1 will go to the IFPA. Tournaments will be run on https://matchplay.events. IFPA standard competition rules apply. TDs have final say in all tournament rulings and decisions.

Tournaments may be canceled for any reason. Weekly formats may be adjusted at TDs discretion, to keep tournaments from running too long.
