Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: January 22, 2022
This years unofficial Alabama State Championship will be held on Jan. 22nd 2022 at Southern Coin-Op, better known as Pinball in Pelham. Doors open 10AM for practice. Tournament will begin at 11AM after a short meeting. The address is 108a Hilltop Business Center Dr, Pelham, AL 35124.
This is an invitation only event and WILL be for IFPA points, prizes, and the unofficial title of Alabama State Champion 2021.
I will be inviting the top 50% of all players who played in 2021 within the state of Alabama.
The standings should be finalized in the first week of January.
Format will be 8 rounds of group matchplay, with alternating rounds of Modern and Classics. Playoffs will be PAPA style: 3 games per round/top 2 players advance/4,2,1,0 scoring. We will take either 8, 12, or 16 players to the finals, depending on player turn out. The next 8 players will make up the B division playoffs.
Cost will be $10 plus coin drop. Most modern games are $1/game. Classics are mostly .50/game.
Prize pool will be split 70/30 between A/B divisions and the top 4 in each division will get 40/30/20/10% of the pot.
I will be emailing the top 50%. However, I do not have email addresses for all players. If you live in the Huntsville, Auburn, or Birmingham areas please pass this info along to your players. There is no need to register. If you are in the top 50% just show up for a great day of competitive pinball. I will be updating this thread as the full year results become available.
