Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: February 01, 2020
What the hell's a Flip Frenzy you might ask? 3 hours of non-stop head-to-head Pinball action, that's what. Join us at a special time of 2:00pm on the 1st Saturday of every SECOND month to participate in this event, a first for Empire.
This is an IFPA registered tournament - each participant will receive points toward their worldwide ranking. Beginning in 2020, anyone who places top 3 in any QLD IFPA event (must also have played in at least 8 tournaments in 2020) will receive an invitation to the Queensland Championships, held in 2021... last but not least WE ARE GIVING AWAY A PINBALL MACHINE - yes, you heard right - each time you enter an Empire Townsville or Mackay Pinball Tournament you'll receive one entry, drawn December 2020 - T&C's apply.
Deets:
- 1st Saturday of every second month (starting Feb)
- $20 Entry - Unlimited Pinball for duration of event
- 2:00pm doors for a 2:30pm kick-off
- Flip Frenzy Format (more details at the bottom)
Prizes:
- 1st gets 100 Bucks
- Top 3 get invitations to the QLD Championships, held in 2021
- Enter any Empire Townsville or Mackay Pinball Tournament for a chance to win a Pinball Machine. Drawn December 2020
- Awards night held in December based on a variety of criteria

Tournament Structure
Players are given 3 hours to When the tournament starts, head-to-head matches are created on those machines, and any players not assigned to a match are placed in a queue.
When a match ends, a new game will be created using the following approach:
Player 1 will become Player 2 on the new game.
Player 2 will go to the bottom of the queue.
The player at the top of the queue will become Player 1 on the new game.
The tournament will progress in this manner until the timer runs out. The winner is the player with the most net wins (or total number of wins minus total number of losses).
