Entry Fee: Free! Donations of non-perishable food items will be greatly appreciated. Any donations will be given to Empty Bowls of Morgantown, WV to help support those in need for the upcoming holiday. Bringing 5 or more non-perishable items will earn you with an extra entry.
Format: Flip Frenzy.
Flip Frenzy tournaments (also known as Pinball! Pinball! Pinball! tournaments) are, as the name implies, very hectic tournaments. When the tournament starts, head-to-head matches are created on those machines, and any players not assigned to a match are placed in a queue. Play continues non-stop in the following fashion for 3 hours and 30 minutes. ***If you bring 5 non-perishable food items to donate to Empty Bowls, you will be allotted an extra 15 minutes of qualifying time - all other players are removed from the queue!***
When a match ends, a new game will be created using the following approach:
Player 1 will become Player 2 on the new game.
Player 2 will go to the bottom of the queue.
The player at the top of the queue will become Player 1 on the new game.
The tournament will progress in this manner until the timer runs out.
The 8 highest ranked competitors (or top 50% of qualifiers) will qualify for finals.
Finals will utilize the PAPA-Style finals. There will be three games played in a match play format with 4 players per game. Scoring will be 4/2/1/0.
The high seed in each group will have choice of game or order throughout the duration of finals. The same game cannot be chosen twice during the same round. The top two players in each group will advance. For the novice final, the winner will be determined after one round.
Hope to see you there!
