September Match Play with Playoff Format
Big Picture:

10 Rounds of Group Match Play. If 64 people attend the field will be seeded 1-64 after the end of round 10. Field is broken up into A,B,C, and D divisions with 16 people in each. You then compete only against the people in your division on up to 12 games for the top 3 trophies!

Fine Details:

Qualifying Portion

The format will consist of 10 Rounds of play in groups of 4 (3 players if necessary)

One game will be played per round per group

Scoring will be 7-5-3-1 or 7-4-1

All games will be drawn randomly but should balance out so you’re not playing the same machine over and over again.

First round will be random seeding.

Subsequent rounds will be Swiss Seeding. After 10 rounds the field will be ranked and divided into 4 equal number groups with preference given to even groups of 4 in higher divisions based on score from qualifying to give us our divisions. All ties for seeding will be broken with 1 game playoffs. Example—If we have only 60 people we will have Division A 1-16, Division B 17-32, Division C 33-48, Division D 49-60. For IFPA reporting purposes once you are put into a division you cannot advance higher than the best position in your qualifying group for WPPR points. Example—If you are in B division and you win that grouping you will be in 17th place for the whole tournament based on 60 people playing.

Finals Format

Playoffs will be a group multi-match knockout tournament. This will be seeded using the results from the qualifying round. All machines inside TitleTown pinball can be used for the playoffs. They will be assigned in groups of 4 and randomly picked each round for your group. You will play in a group of 4 people playing 4 games. You will get 7/5/3/1 scoring on each game based on your finishing position against the 3 other players in your group.

These games will be played simultaneously with player 1 playing ball 1 on game 1...once that ball drains they move to game 2 play ball 1 while 2nd person steps up to game 1 and plays their ball 1, etc. You must play all 4 games in order and stay in your order of play as well. If anyone or multiple people out of order they will be given last place for that 1 game.

Once the 4 games are completed the scores are added up. The top 2 advance the bottom 2 are eliminated. If there is a tie between 2nd and 3rd a 1 game playoff from the alternate listed on the sheet will be played between the tied people. No other ties will be broken except for the top 4 overall in each division for trophies.

This will go from 16 people to start round 1 then 8 people to start round 2 to the final 4 to start round 3 in each division. 12 games total in playoffs will be played to determine the winner.

I need the scores of everyone who is eliminated on round because I will be basing the overall finishing position on what you scored in your group for playoffs. Example: If you get 12 points on your 4 games and someone in the same division and round but different group scores 14 points they will be ranked higher than you for the overall finishing position of the tournament. I don't want an 8 way tie for 9th.

That's the whole tournament. All IFPA guidelines regarding player order, stuck balls, machine malfunctions, etc will be followed. Tournament Director has final say on all rulings.
