Tournament Overview
Start Date: June 08, 2019
End Date: June 09, 2019
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Tournament Directors: Dan Robar and David Peck.
Tournament Director email: ausifpa@gmail.com
Tournament location: 1368 Mulgoa Road, Mulgoa NSW 2745.
Tournament dates and times: Qualifying rounds commence Saturday 8 June from 9:30am.
Finals commence Sunday 9 June from 9:30am.
Tournament fee: see web link for entry details.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT DETAILS:
Qualifying consists of 4-player groups, with some 3-player groups if necessary.
There are 5 qualifying rounds, with 3 games played in each round: one old, one mid, one new. A machine bank will be randomly assigned to each group.
Players will be grouped using the "tiered swiss" method.
3-2-1-0 scoring. 3-1.5-0 in any three-player groups.
The top 32 players qualify for the finals. Ties for the qualifying bubble are broken by a single game randomly selected from the qualifying banks.
Finals consist of four-player groups, each playing a bank of three machines selected by the highest-ranked qualifier in the group. Players may not choose a bank already picked by a higher qualifier in the same round. The remaining players in a group (in order of qualifying rank) choose their playing position.
3-2-1-0 scoring. Top 2 players from each group advance to the next round. The winner of the final group of 4 wins the tournament.
Significant ties are broken by a single game on a machine chosen by the tied player with the highest qualifying rank. This machine must not have already been played by the group. Note that a tie is only significant if it affects whether or not a player will advance toward the final round, or occurs in the final round.
