Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: May 31, 2019
This Lake Charles tournament will be sanctioned by the IFPA. The tourney shall begin at 5:15pm on May 31, 2019. Practice games are not going to be permitted. The entree fee is $2 (which covers both your main and side tourney IFPA fee) and your best pirate joke.
This tournament will use the best game format using the 95% modified decay scoring system of the MatchPlay software. You will receive two plays on each of six games. Your two scores will be added together for each game and that shall count as an area. There will be six areas in total, so you will get to play 12 games. The top four players will reach the playoff. The playoff will be a single four player game with the bottom score dropping out, and then a three player game with the bottom score dropping out, and then the final game to determine 1st and 2nd place.
This tournament is at a law firm office. Please do not appear before 5pm as an early appearance may disrupt the employees of the law firm and we want to make sure we are all invited back for future tournaments so the less we disrupt the staff the better. There is plenty of parking available. Please dress appropriately and remember that no alcohol is allowed on the premises.
We expect this to be a small and quick tournament that will likely be over before 8pm (it could go on longer depending on turn out). Everyone is certainly welcome but if you have never appeared in either the Lake Charles League or a Romp in the Swamp tournament you must contact the tourney director or Mike Vanetten at mlvanetten@yahoo.com and let one of them know you are coming and provide some reasonable basic information about yourself which would include your full name, IFPA number, email address and a valid cell phone number (and this must be done at least 48 hours before the start of the event). We anticipate under 20 people attending this event but would welcome being happily surprised with a larger turnout.
