Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: January 13, 2019
-Qualifying will run from December 10, 2018 to January 12, 2019. Qualifying games will be all machines located at Hop River Brewing Company. Games must be finished and submitted before midnight ET on January 12th.
-Qualifying score submission must be done via a picture (aka a “selfie”) of the score on Matchplay, posted to FWPinball facebook group, or an email to tournament director.
-Top 50% of qualifiers are eligible for the Selfie Survivor Tournament Finals. Finals will be held at Hop River Brewing at 1pm ET on January 13th, 2019.
-The winner of the December FWPinball.com ToPs Tournament will be given a unique one-time-use award in the form of an “immunity pin”. The immunity pin, when used, preemptively prevents its owner from receiving a “strike” or “loss” during a round in the finals. If the winner of the ToPs Tournament doesn’t participate in the finals, it will be initially given to the ToPs Tournament runner-up. If neither participate, the immunity pin will be given to the finals attendee with the highest qualifier seed.
-Use of the immunity pin during finals must be declared to the tournament director after a round has been drawn, but BEFORE the player’s match has been started. For example, no using the immunity pin after having a terrible first two balls on a machine.
-After being used, the immunity pin can be earned by the next participant that enters a high score on a machine during finals tournament play. This can occur multiple times over the course of the finals, but no player may earn the immunity pin more than once.
-Finals format will be determined by number of qualifiers and attendees.
-No bangbacks or death saves are allowed.
-Players should report all machine malfunctions. Should a beneficial malfunction occur (including a ball becoming stuck during multi-ball play), the player must stop play ASAP — they may not take advantage of the malfunction.
-Any player found to be cheating or breaking the rules will be disqualified.
-Any situations not covered by these rules will be handled according to standard PAPA/IFPA Tournament Rules located here: https://www.ifpapinball.com/rules/
-Rulings are at the discretion of the tournament director and are final.
