Tournament Overview
Start Date: September 06, 2018
End Date: November 08, 2018
This season has 10 league nights played every Thursday night, alternating between Summit City Brewerks and Hop River Brewing Company. League matches start promptly at 7 pm. Players will be placed into groups of 4 (or 3 depending on total attendance). Each group will play 4 pinball machines.
Grouping and play order will be determined by current league standings (order of registration on week 1). The player in league standing (N-1), where N is the current league week number, will be grouped with the highest rated players they have yet to play recently. This selection order will become the play order for the group. The next consecutive ranked player (N) will be selected and grouped with other players, and so on (N+1, N+2, etc.), until all present players are grouped.
Late players will be assigned into already existing 3 player groups, if possible, and will take 0 points for any games in progress or previously completed.
Behavior that causes a machine to slam tilt (thereby ending play for all players) or tilt through another player’s turn, will receive a score of 0 for that game. The game will then be restarted for the remaining players in the case of a slam tilt. Players that slide a machine, attempt to bring a ball back into play after draining or going down an outlane, or exhibit unsportsmanlike behavior at league official discretion, will be given one warning before receiving a zero score for a game.
Extra balls must be plunged and not played normally. When a player is required to plunge an extra ball, the player may touch the machine to set up a skill shot before launching the ball. Once the ball is set into motion, the player may NOT shake or nudge the machine, or touch the flippers.
Scoring in a 4 player group will be 7, 5, 3, and 1. In a 3 player group, scoring is 7, 4, and 1. Maximum points a player can earn at one league night is 28. Absent players will be given a total score of 0 for the week. A player's lowest 2 league night scores are dropped at the end of the season.
Final standings will be determined at the end of the 10th league night based on cumulative score. Any ties for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd will be broken via head-to-head match on a randomly selected machine.
Fees to join the league are $5 per season along with coin drop for each machine. New players can join the league at any time. All league funds go toward IFPA fees and end of the season prizes.
League Officials will be Nick Squires, Kyle Alberda, and Ryan Recker. League officials not directly involved in an issue shall make rulings on situations requiring an immediate decision or rule interpretation.
