Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: April 28, 2018
West Virginia Weekend Of Strikes 2018
The "West Virginia Weekend Of Strikes 2018" is a two day event that will feature FOUR separate "3 Strikes" tournaments, split between Starport Arcade And Pub in Morgantown, WV and a private residence collection (16 Briarwood Terrace, Fairmont, WV). This two day pinball event will take place on Saturday, April 28th and Sunday, April 29th 2018.
The schedule for the event will be as follows. Please note that start times may differ due to length of time needed to complete prior tournaments and to allow for a small "practice or rest time" between Tournaments, especially to accomodate any new players just arriving:
Saturday, April 28, 2018 (Starport Arcade And Pub, 471 Chestnut Street, Morgantown, WV 26505)
10:30am--Doors Open
11:00am--3 Strike Tournament #1
Twenty Minutes After Finish Of Prior Tournament--3 Strike Tournament #2
Sunday, April 29, 2018 (Private Residence, 16 Briarwood Terrace, Fairmont, WV 26554)
2:30pm--Doors Open
3:00pm--3 Strike Tournament #3
Twenty Minutes After Finish Of Prior Tournament--3 Strike Tournament #4
Entry for EACH Tournament is $6.00, with $5.00 going in to the payout to the Top 3 Finishers and $1 going to the IFPA Endorsement Fee. The machines will be token drop at Starport and a mix of Free Play and coin drop (with no machine being over .50 to play) at the Private Residence. Token machines are operational at Starport and quarters will be available at the Private Residence, but please try to bring as many quarters with you as you can to the Private Residence.
Payout to the Top 3 Finishers for each tournament will be 60% for 1st Place, 25% for 2nd Place and 15% for 3rd Place. Machines located at the Private Residence are: Royal Flush, Sinbad, Close Encounters, Tri-Zone, Star Race, Roller Disco, Time Fantasy, LaserCue, Hollywood Heat, Cybernaut, Jack*Bot and Dialed In. Machines (currently) at Starport include: Dialed In LE, Houdini, Total Nuclear Annihilation, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Aerosmith, Ghostbusters, Star Wars LE and Earthshaker. This list is subject to change, especially at the Starport location.
The format for each Tournament be Head-To-Head "3 Strikes Knockout" format with random selection of opponents and machines each Round. The first player randomly chosen by the software (matchplay.events) will have choice of order in each match of every round. Should there happen to be more players than can fit on the machines, players will be asked to double up on a machine that has been placed in the Arenas listing twice. The loser of each match will receive a "strike" for his or her loss and will be eliminated from play when they have accumulated 3 strikes. The last player left without 3 strikes for the tournament will be declared the winner. Should there happen to be a tie for 3rd Place at the end of any of the Tournaments, one game will played on the machine immediately to the right of the machine selected by the software for the two playing for First Place.
Here are some other items to keep in mind:
1. Any rulings needed during the course of play will be at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director and those assigned to oversee such matters.
2. Should ever a machine be deemed Unplayable DURING a Match by the Tournament Director or one of those assigned to oversee such matters, the next open machine to the right will be played instead, with the machine removed from the Arena selection file in the software.
3. Due to the unique nature of these tournaments, whenever a person is eliminated from the FIRST Tournament of the day, please DO NOT PLAY GAMES ON UNOCCUPIED MACHINES DURING THE REMAINDER OF THAT PARTICULAR TOURNAMENT. There will be time for playing during the warm up times, practice times and after the conclusion of the 2nd Tournament of the day.
4. Abusive behavior, either physically toward machines and individuals or verbally toward other individuals, will not be tolerated. After receiving an initial Warning of such abusive behavior, the next infraction will result in a player being banned from competition for the rest of the current event (and it's subsequent inclusive matches or Tournaments).
5. Since part of this event is being held at a Private Residence, please remember that no alcohol is allowed on the premesis and a designated smoking area will be available on the lower patio.
7. Participants are encouraged to park on the Private Residence side of the street, without blocking any mailboxes or other driveways.
