Tournament Overview

Start Date: March 28, 2018
End Date: May 23, 2018

The league will be eight (8) rounds (weeks).  Each round the players will play a set of four (4) machines picked by the players within the group from games available at the location. Given a full group of players (4), each player gets to pick a machine, but cannot play the same machine twice in a round. Games will be played in the same order as the players are seeded, so the game picked by the player with the highest number of wins will be played first. Any remaining game choices for partial groups (those with less than 4 players) will be done in reverse order so the player with the lowest number of wins picks first.

Initial seeding for groups will be done randomly for the first round. Each subsequent round players will be seeded by the number of wins the player has accumulated with highest number of wins given the highest seed. Any ties will be broken by the previous number wins in the previous rounds until the tie is broken and finally randomly.
Players will receive one (1) point for each player they finish higher than on each machine, for a maximum of three (3) on any game. Any group of three will multiply their points by 1.5x. Any group of two players (which is unlikely) will multiply their points by 3x. Player groupings will be determined by who is present for the round, this may cause players with lower rankings to play in higher groups than they might have with a full field.

Given enough players, subsequent rounds will be bracketed out into multiple tiers. Tiers will be at minimum six (6) players.
Players that do not show up for a round will receive a 0 for that round. To allow players to miss a round, after the third round, the lowest round finish will be excluded from the seeding calculation for the remainder of the league.

IFPA rules are in play.

In the case of any game malfunction a new game will be chosen at random.

Groupings by week:
Week 1  - Random seeding, Pinburgh style groupings
Week 2  - Pinburgh seeding with a single tier
Week 3  - Pinburgh seeding split into two tiers
Week 4  - Pinburgh seeding split into two tiers
Week 5  - Given enough players, Pinburgh seeding split into up to three tiers
Week 6  - Given enough players, Pinburgh seeding split into up to three tiers
Week 7  - Ordered seeding in as many groups of four as possible, then groups of three.
Week 8 - Ordered seeding in as many groups of four as possible, then groups of three
