Tournament Overview


Tournament Date: September 16, 2017

An IFPA sanctioned Pinball Tournament

Our game bank will include the following:
Lord of the Rings LE, Simpsons Pinball Party, Ghostbusters Pro, No Good Gophers, Starship Troopers, Terminator 2 Judgement Day, and Aerosmith Pro

Buy in will be $5 + coin drop and will get you 9 tickets to play the bank of games, you must play each game one time and can replay 2 pins to attempt and get a higher score with the higher of the 2 scores being kept. After open qualifying each players lowest 2 ranked games will be eliminated using the top 5 pin scores for each player to determine flights.

Open Qualifying: 4pm – 7 pm

Open qualifying will consist of a pre-determined 7 game bank. Competitors in the tournament may Play 7 game bank in any order during the qualifying period of 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM***YOU MUST PLUNGE YOUR FIRST BALL OF YOUR FIRST GAME NO LATER THAN 5:30 TO COMPETE IN THIS TOURNAMENT****

Standard Tournament rules apply with a few additions:
1. You cannot play the same game twice in a row
2. Extra Balls will be turned off, creating a point value if earned.
3. Each player must complete a minimum of 5 games to qualify for finals.
4. Players are responsible for their own coin drop for each attempt.
5. Questions regarding a ruling, machine malfunction, etc will be the final judgment of the tournament director on-site.

Qualifying scoring will be a total from all 7 machines with points being awarded as follows:
First: 100 pts
Second: 97 pts
Third: 95 pts
Fourth: 94 pts
Fifth: 93 points
Sixth: 92 pts
Seventh: 91pts
Eighth: 90
Ninth: 89
Tenth: 88
And so on

Finals: 7:30 pm till complete

After qualifying, the players will be split into A, B, and C Divisions as long as there are 12 or more people attending.

A DIVISION
A Division finals will consist of 4, 6, or 8 players, depending on total number of entrants A Division finals will be split into seeded groups of 3 or 4. The 7 games used during qualifying will be broken into 3 game banks:

Bank1: Ghostbusters, Starship Troopers, and Simpsons
Bank2: Aerosmith, Terminator 2, and No Good Gofers
Bank3: Lord of the Rings, Simpsons, Terminator 2

The highest seed (from qualifying rounds) in each 3-4 player grouping (starting with the 1 seed) will choose a 3 game bank. The same bank cannot be chosen by other A Division groups during the same round.

The games in each bank will be played in the specific order they are listed. Since the high seed chooses the bank, on the first game, the 2nd highest seed chooses order, then 3rd highest, then 4th highest. on subsequent games, that order is reversed, where whoever had the lowest score on game one chooses order first.

Scoring in A Division finals will go as follows:
1st place: 3 points
2nd place: 2 points
3rd place: 1 point
4th place: 0 points
Per game in the 3 game bank. The top two players will advance to the next round of play.

B DIVISION
B Division finals will consist consist of 4, 6, or 8 players, depending on total number of entrants B Division finals will be split into seeded groups of 3 or 4. The 7 games used during qualifying will be broken into 3 game banks:
