Side tournament played on Safecracker pinball machine (by Bally 1996). Each player plays up to 3 games on Safecracker, each time recording their score and taking a picture of their score. The highest score of each players 3 games will be used to rank their position in this initial round of Best Game format. Then the top 4 players will play in a direct play format play-off. Semi-finals and finals will be single elimination best of 1 game matches type format. For semi-finals, the #1 seed will play the #4 seed in a 2-player game, and the #2 seed will play the #3 seed in a 2-player game. The higher score winners of those two semi-final games will advance to the finals. A 2-player game will be played in the finals match to determine winner of the side tournament. A single 2-player game consolation match can be played to determine 3rd and 4th place. At least 10% to 50% of players entered in this tournament will reach the play-offs per IFPA requirements. If the machine breaks down and can't be repaired in a fairly brief timely manner, then the tournament director will select another machine to hold the side tournament on. Side tournaments will be registered with IFPA, and players will earn WPPR points.
A $10 entry fee per player provides entry into all tournaments (main and all side tournaments), and to enjoy some of the main meat dish. The $10 entry fees will be used to cover costs of trophies, prizes, and the main meat dishes. There will not be any cash prize payouts. Early arrival time is 10 am, practice time from 10 to 11:15 am, with main tournament starting around 11:30 am. Side tournament play can also start at 11:30 am. Note that this tournament is at a private residence in a neighborhood in sw part of Lake Charles, LA, so please consider car-pooling if possible. Parking will be somewhat limited.
