Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: January 26, 2017
Syracuse PINheads celebrates its 1st birthday (with cake, pinball and everything in between!)
Join us Thursday January 26th from 4:30PM to 8:30PM for our 8th tournament at our Cloud City Comics And Toys location (Shoppingtown Mall, 3649 Erie Blvd E., Syracuse, NY 13214). We will be competing on 6 games (7 if we can stretch it) plus there are a few surprises up our coil sleeves.
This tournament will be FREE to enter (your only cost is coin drop). There will be gifts for all participants as a sign of our appreciation of your support over the last year. Top prizes will be finalized at a later date.
QUALIFYING FROM 4:30PM TO 8:30PM
TOP 4 = FINALS AT 8:30PM
COST = FREE to enter tournament aside from coin drop
**************Pinball Tournament Rules********************
We are planning to compete on 6 games (likely The Getaway: High Speed 2, Swords of Fury, Fire!, Disco '79, Elektra, and Grand Lizard)*. Top score from each game counts toward qualifying (6 top scores, one on each game). You receive one point for each person whose score you beat on each game. The four players with the highest scores at the end of qualifying move on to finals.
Unlimited Qualifying! Play as much as you please!
All games cost between 25 cents and 75 cents per game.
If someone is playing a game you want to play please create a line behind that game (but be mindful of giving them enough space to concentrate). If a line is already formed please wait patiently until your turn is up. If lines become too long Syracuse PINheads will create a sign up list and will announce turns as they come up.
FINALS. Any game in progress at 8:30PM will be allowed to finish, and that will be the last entry. All ties are broken by a single ball game on game chosen by top qualifier. If there is a tie for fire place the game will be Fire!.
Finals will be group play, where 4 games are played, if necessary. Pinburgh style. 3 points for beat 3 people on a game, 2 points for beating 2 people on a game, 1 point for beating 1 person on a game. Finals will be 4 games, each played on a different machine. Top qualifier picks the games and in what order. Fourth place qualifier will play in the 1st player spot, third place qualifier will play in the 2nd player spot, second place qualifier will play in the 3rd player spot, and first place qualifier will play in the 4th player spot.
More rules. Play extra balls during qualifying. Plung extra balls during finals. Ball stuck or need a ruling? Find Ryan Zlomek. Have fun! Anyone caught cheating or abusing the games will be bounced from the Tourney. Everyone is expected to be on their best behavior. If a feature/light on a machine is not working, keep playing. That feature won't work for all other players. Slam tilts, bang-backs, and death saves are not allowed. First offense is a disqualification from the tournament. Intentionally interfering with another player's game will result in a disqualification from the tournament.
