Tournament Overview

Tournament Date: August 18, 2016

Join us Thursday August 18th from 4:30PM to 8:30PM for pinball, conversation, cartoons and a little competitive edge. ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME.

For Syracuse PINheads' 3rd tournament at Cloud City Comics and Toys (Shoppingtown Mall, 3649 Erie Blvd E, Syracuse, NY 13214) we are teaming up with Joe Orsak to offer something unique to participants.

On top of having a blast playing pinball we will have Joe Orsak with us drawing unique caricatures of your best pinball moments. Orsak is known for his work on comics including Salt City, The Yellow Rose Of Texas, and Captain Cuse as well as doing logo design for the Syracuse Crunch. We are honored to be able to work with Joe and hope that those who come to participate in the tournament will grab a memento of the occassion in the form of a unique Orsak pinball drawing.

This tournament will also be FREE to enter (your only cost is coin drop). Prizes will be supplied by Syracuse PINheads.

QUALIFYING FROM 4:30PM to 8:30PM
TOP 4 = FINALS AT 8:30PM
COST = FREE to enter tournament aside from coin drop

***************Pinball Tournament Rules******************

We are planning to compete on 6 machines (likely The Getaway: High Speed 2, Terminator 2, Swords Of Fury, Disco '79, Elektra, and a new addition to Syracuse PINheads collection coming soon). Top score from each game counts toward qualifying (6 top scores, one on each game). You receive one point for each person whose score you beat on each game. The four players with the highest scores at the end of qualiyfing move on to finals.
Unlimited qualifying! Play as much as you please!

Cost of games is currently calculated at the following*:
The Getaway: High Speed 2 is 75 cents, Terminator 2 is 75 cents, Swords Of Fury is 50 cents per game, Elektra is 50 cents per game, Disco '79 is 25 cents per game.
Additional game will likely be 50 cents per game.

If someone is playing a game you want to play please create a line behind that game (but be mindful of giving them enough space to concentrate). If a line is already formed please wait patiently wait until your turn it up. If lines become too long Syracuse PINheads will create a sign up list and will annouce turns as they come up.

All scores will be live at the Syracuse PINheads table. If you want to see where your standings stop on by.

FINALS. Any game in progress at 8:30PM will be allowed to finish, and that will be the last entry. All ties are broken by qualifying score on Swords Of Fury. Group play, where 4 games are played, if necessary. Pinburgh style. 3 points for beating 3 people on a game, 2 points for beating 2 people on a game, 1 point for beating 1 person on a game. Finals games will be 4 games, each played on a different machine. Top qualifier determines the games and in what order the games are played in. Fourth place qualifier will play in the 1st player spot, third place qualifier will play in the 2nd player spot, second place qualifier will play in the 3rd player spot, and first place qualifier will play in the 4th player spot.

More rules. Play extra balls during qualifying. Plunge extra balls during finals. Balls stuck or need a ruling? Find Ryan Zlomek. Have fun! Anyone caught cheating or abusing the games will be bounced from the Tourney. Everyone is expected to be on their best behavior. If a feature/light on a machine is not working, keep playing. That feature won't work for all other players. Slam tilts, bang-backs, and death saves are not allowed. First offense is a disqualification from the tournament. Intentionally interfering with another player's game will result in disqualification from the tournament.

Prizes will go to 1st place player in the form of a gift card.

*Games subject to change.
