FESTIVUS SCHEDULE:

11:00AM - Doors open for practice
11:45AM - Practice ends for announcements
12:00PM - Airing of Grievances (see below for details)
12:30PM - Feats of Strength Begin (actual tournament starts)
05:15PM - Festivus Feast served (prime rib, NY strip, Steamed/Cocktail Shrimp, and more!)
06:15PM - Finals for "A" begin
06:20PM - Finals for "B" begin
06:30PM - Strength Challenge begins (see below for details)

Prizes: Top 4 in "A" division will win cash with 1st place also receiving a special trophy! Percentage breakdown after all trophies have been deducted for the side tournament and for the “B” consolation prizes will be: 40% for 1st, 30% for 2nd, 20% for 3rd, and 10% for 4th. "B" consolation finals winner will receive a trophy plus some cash.

FEATS OF STRENGTH FORMAT: 10 rounds of Group Match Play. The first 8 rounds will use balanced pairing and if I remember, we will switch to swiss for the remainder of qualifying. Top 10 will advance to the "Festivus Pole Finals".

FESTIVUS POLE FINALS FORMAT: The Festivus Pole Finals will employ the IFPA Ladder Format. The bottom 4 players will play in a 4-player game, lowest score is knocked out. The next highest seed then joins to play another 4-player game with the lowest score getting knocked out. Rinse and repeat until 1 person is left at the top of the Pole!

Additional Event Details:

1. Airing of Grievances - If players choose to participate, they will have 60 seconds to air their grievances and rant about how much they hate a specific machine and why they want it EXCLUDED from the tournament. Only players who air grievances will be allowed to vote on the final machine(s) that get removed from the tournament. Depending on number of players who air grievances, this will determine how many games are removed. After all players grieve, we will then vote.

2. Strength Challenge - The top 4 seeds after qualifying will have a chance to play Chad in an attempt to defeat him and win the Strength Challenge Trophy. Chad gets to pick any game (even ones that were eliminated), and he can re-pick the same machine as many times as he chooses. If you beat Chad, you win the Strength Challenge Trophy. If Chad beats all 4 challengers, he wins the Strength Challenge Trophy. Chad won the 2024 Strength Challenge.

3. Festivus Feast - We plan on serving Prime Rib, NY Strip steaks, Steamed/Cocktail shrimp, as well as some other goodies! We will stop playing pinball for 1 hour to enjoy food and fellowship.

4. Festivus Miracles - Players are encouraged to SHOUT "It's a Festivus Miracle" when any of the following things happen:

*You earn a MATCH and win a free credit
*You earn a replay while playing your game
*You earn 1st place and your score is within 10% of 2nd place. Example - You score 100,000 on Harlem Globetrotters
100,000 x .10 = 10,000. If 2nd place scored between 90,000 and 99,990 IT'S A FESTIVUS MIRACLE!
*Each Festivus of Miracle observed will be recorded. At the end of the tournament (including finals)
the Festivus Miracle trophy will be awarded to the player with the highest Festivus Miracle Score.

5. Christmas music (and other music) will be rocking on the jukebox throughout the tournament.
